Are you logging your LFT negative results?

I posted something on the Daily Stats thread about people not logging their negative LFT results because that's what I'm hearing from my circle of acquaintance.

I'm not in the loop, really, as I have no school aged children and am not doing them through work, so wondered what anyone else was doing.

Nope. Didn't realise I had to until someone told me recently. Since then I've not signed up. I will eventually!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 31/03/2021 14:11

@YetAnotherWalk

The 50% of our household who are testing are logging each negative... in my mind if you don't, the number of tests go down and the number of positives go up which will lead people to think the rates of positives are going up.
Which is exactly why the result of every test taken needs officially recording. This date will be used to inform the easing of restrictions I expect so we need a true picture of the positivity rate.

My son (17) is yes. At least he says he is and we have reminded him from time to time.

Robintakeover · 31/03/2021 14:18

Yes we are - have spoken to friends who didn’t realise they needed to though

You mean parents who don't bother reading the instructions?

I really don't understand why some parents would happily conduct a medical procedure on a child without reading the instructions first Confused

gamerchick · 31/03/2021 16:21

Yes,I didn't have to make an account though. I got a link from the school and just have to enter his name, year and test result. Even the void tests need to be logged.

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 31/03/2021 16:28

I log mne and work gets an automatic email letting them know the result.

Abraxan · 31/03/2021 16:38

Yes, I'm logging mine twice a week on the government website. I also add them the the Zoe Covid app too.

Abraxan · 31/03/2021 16:40

@PheasantPlucker1

Nope. Just cant be arsed is the honest answer!

The tests are also quite unreliable so I dont have much confidence in them, if I had symptoms Id still want a PCR test.

If you have symptoms then you must get a pcr. LFT should not be used for symptomatic cases.

The idea is that the LFTs pick up some of the asymptomatic cases.

Student problem - I pick ds's school. It then asks for his occupation but student isn't an option.

You also need to input them on the Gov website.

I just select the option that means "occupation isn't listed". It's odd there's no category for that considering you establish earlier in the process that they are testing for a school.

Just above the box where you answer, there's a link you can click that says something like "Continue without answering". That takes you to the next section.
PuppyMonkey · 31/03/2021 16:59

I just put occupation not listed too @StealthPolarBear.

Going to try setting up accounts for my two tonight and do it as “myself” as above and see if it saves time in the long run. I’d get them to do it themselves but I’m too much of a control freak to let them do it without my supervision.Grin

Thank you. I had to go back to check the letter as I swear I read it tip to toe and there was a second page underneath. The way the first ended it wasn't obvious.

Cheers man.

OpheliasCrayon · 31/03/2021 18:26

We have to log them on our school testing page (where I work) and then that links us to the nhs page to log the results. I didn't log it straight away for the first few times as I was teaching and so was going to do it when I got home and I had had a few reminders by the time I got round to doing it a few hours on. You're definitely supposed to log negatives - not sure why you wouldn't !

Northernsoulgirl45 · 31/03/2021 18:54

Yes

DoubleDeckerSwimmer · 31/03/2021 18:55

Yes

OrangeBananaFish · 31/03/2021 19:06

Yes 4 of us twice a week (2DC and 2 parents). I haven't made an account so do it all every time. It is a faff, but I feel its important to log the negative results too as for reasons already mentioned.

However, I would hope that the government will assume that there will be a certain percentage not logging results.

Namechange2790 · 31/03/2021 20:05

Yes we are, 3 of us twice a week. It’s just such a hassle having to log them with the gov website and then notify the 3 different schools, each in their own way (ones email, ones a google form and the other some other website you have to record through). Submitting all the results takes more time then doing the actual tests so I will be honest and admit I did forget to submit to the schools one Sunday.

Frazzled2207 · 31/03/2021 20:12

no but i'm 'just' a parent. I would do if it was positive.

gamerchick · 31/03/2021 20:48

Reet so I've logged tonight's test in the gov link from the letter. I didn't have to make an account though? Is there another one I should be looking at?

User5747384 · 31/03/2021 20:50

Yes have logged all of them

Thewhiskeronadog · 31/03/2021 20:52

Yes, it's clear on the instructions and very easy to do.
