Are you logging your LFT negative results?

I posted something on the Daily Stats thread about people not logging their negative LFT results because that's what I'm hearing from my circle of acquaintance.

I'm not in the loop, really, as I have no school aged children and am not doing them through work, so wondered what anyone else was doing.

@SavoyCabbage

Yes, it only takes a minute if you register your details then sign in.
I’m probably being very dim but I can’t see a bit on the gov.Uk site where you can register your details? Confused
delilahbucket · 30/03/2021 21:50

Yes every time.

PheasantPlucker1 · 30/03/2021 21:51

Nope. Just cant be arsed is the honest answer!

The tests are also quite unreliable so I dont have much confidence in them, if I had symptoms Id still want a PCR test.

Lemons1571 · 30/03/2021 21:52

I’m logging them with the secondary school. Not on gov.uk though. Didn’t know we had to, and tbh I find it enough to get all the tests done twice a week and log the school secondary ones. Logging an additional 5 test results on gov.uk x 2 times a week, would send me over the edge.

The school have said testing has dropped off to around 30% of families. So I feel at least I’m helping the school, even if I’m not able to submit all the data for research.

Tatum1234 · 30/03/2021 21:54

I am for the kids as the school asked us to. I aren’t for us parents, I don’t see the need tbh.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 30/03/2021 21:58

@PuppyMonkey
It’s on this link www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result

fizbosshoes · 30/03/2021 22:00

Yes I log ours (often on my way to work!) Although I have to say I'm slightly Hmm about whether people would bother to record a void result.

JemimaMuddledUp · 30/03/2021 22:01

Yes

chocolateoranges33 · 30/03/2021 22:02

Yes, I've logged on the gov websites my DCs so far - 6 tests. Only takes a few minutes to do so. However, I didn't realise I had to do this until I read the instructions.

If you have symptoms, you are supposed to get a PCR test. Lateral flow is to pick up asymptomatic (or possibly pre-symptomatic) cases.

I have delegated the logging task to husband. It is indeed a pain in the arse as he can't seem to make an account and has to answer lots of questions each time. Twice (two children). Still doing it for now, although questioning the point of doing so over the holidays for a teen who is not leaving his bedroom - where's he going to catch it?

LaMariposa · 30/03/2021 22:08

Didn’t know we had to.

Disneyblue · 30/03/2021 22:15

No I don't.
I probably should though.
My boss basically told us not to bother.
Is my honest answer.

Awaiting flame (I bet loads of people don't but darent say so)

duffeldaisy · 30/03/2021 22:16

Yes. It doesn’t take long. It is a pain that they don’t let you set up an account that remembers multiple people, but I’ve found that taking slightly extra time to put in the number on my laptop, rather than scan it with my phone, means the laptop remembers and suggests dates/school postcode etc, so that part is a bit quicker.

boon · 30/03/2021 22:26

Yes all of them

MargaretThursday · 30/03/2021 22:31

I am but it's a bit of a hassle with 2 children and me doing them. They could do with making it far easier to register and then just log test number and result.
Most of the questions won't change and if they can't work out from my postcode whether I live in England/NI/Scotland/Wales then I'm sure the year 9s computing class probably can set that one up for them.

itbemay1 · 30/03/2021 22:41

Yes we are. DS on gov site and school webpage. Mine on gov site and DH on gov site, twice a week...

islockdownoveryet · 30/03/2021 22:59

Yes it says on the little booklet with step by step instructions. Now I see why some people think the lateral tests are incorrect probably not reading the instructions and doing it correctly.

Yes I agree that bits a faf so maybe that’s the reason why some don’t .
Rillington · 30/03/2021 23:03

Yes through a Google form for school and on the NHS site.

OddshoesOddsocks · 30/03/2021 23:15

No but we don’t need to do them regularly for school. We’ve only done them when dds went with a cold to prove that they didn’t need to be sent home! I’d log a positive result as that seems the most important. I’m obviously very naive and in the minority here though!

Mykittensaremyfriends · 30/03/2021 23:21

Those saying it's a hassle because you're a family all testing on the same days have you considered that if you each test on different days then essentially you could pick up a positive result earlier whilst also knowing that your household is negative on more days, so for a household of 2 people testing, 4 out 7 days clear, rather than 2 out of 7, if one person tests mon/thurs and the other tues/fri. Most effective method of picking up a positive result early and quicker to register 1 or 2 results a day for households of 4 or more than testing everyone twice a week on the same day.

And agree with other posters negative results need to be reported on the government website and separate school forms to ensure figures are accurate so that infection rates can be properly monitored and restrictions lifted.

I do it on my phone and it remembers most info except phone numbers so fairly quick after the first few times

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 30/03/2021 23:49

Yes, DDs logging all tests on gov and also school website

DumplingsAndStew · 30/03/2021 23:54

I don't know why I'm still so surprised by how dense some people are.
