Side effects?

Had my AZ vaccine at 1pm today. When should I expect any side effects?

Haven't had any yet.

Mine started 12 hours after the vaccination. I felt quite rough and nauseous the following day but was still able to go to work (teacher) so not as bad as I had feared.

It’s been 4 days now and I’m back to normal.

OliviaBensonsEyebrow · 27/03/2021 14:46

Glad you're feeling better. Happy my app was on a Saturday as I can spend Sunday recovering, if necessary.

Had mine yesterday at 4pm. Felt fine all night but feel a bit wiped out and groggy today. Arms a wee bit sore too. Mind you we did stay up late celebrating the rugby.

siblingrevelryagain · 27/03/2021 14:50

Felt hot/cold and fluey about12 hours after, for about a day. Banging headache and nausea too

OliviaBensonsEyebrow · 27/03/2021 15:10

So if I get any it will be tomorrow morning, by the sounds of things.

I felt a bit emotional when I got it - think it's the combo of vaccine plus things starting to open up.

Had mine Thursday afternoon. Absolutely no side effects. The only clue that I've had it is slight redness at the top of my arm.

OliviaBensonsEyebrow · 27/03/2021 15:13

That's good Helvellyn. God I'm looking forward to days out in the Lakes again.

Had mine Thursday morning. Started to feel a bit rough by about 6 that night. Felt awful by 8. Hot, shivers, thumping headache, felt really
sick. Almost was sick actually. Friday, just felt a bit washed out.

I feel OK today apart from, what feels like eye strain and still a very sore arm.

Hopefully you're one of the lucky ones, OP. If you start to feel hot and or achy, just take some paracetamol straight away. It's likely you will feel a little rough at least, but if you do, it's also likely that it won't last more than a day or two.

I had mine at 1.40 pm on Tuesday. Felt fine all day, even did a workout in the evening.

Woke up at 02.40 am bloody freezing cold- chattering teeth, full body shivers, the whole works. Two duvets and my fluffy dressing gown on and was still shivering! Also felt a bit queasy. And my arm was very sore.

The shivering passed after a couple of hours, the queasiness took a day or so, but I still have a slightly sore arm, although the pain area is shrinking daily.

whoamitojudge · 27/03/2021 16:36

Had mine at 3pm yesterday felt fine all of the rest of the day until lunchtime today when I feel exhausted and also got a sore arm

Aliwali77 · 27/03/2021 17:54

Had mine 7.15pm Thursday, at school teaching all day Friday but started to feel bad at 2pm. Felt awful (flu like aches, skin painful to touch, nausea) all evening but slept well last night. Still not great today, tired and sneezing a lot! But much better than yesterday.

tootyfruitypickle · 27/03/2021 18:05

I had full 24 hours of first massively achy, then very very fluey in my body. Head was fine but I did feel absolutely grim. Then temperature . Slept it off and fine the next day . Not a chance I could work , even from home . I had to go off.

Thankful dose 2 apparently doesn't have the same side effects !!

OliviaBensonsEyebrow · 27/03/2021 18:27

Well I've got a bit of a pink face but that's it so far.

I had mine this morning. By 5pm I had started shivering and felt frozen, I'm now experiencing pins and needles/tingling throughout my body constantly. This was my first jab. Hoping it don't last too long!!

Cornishqween · 27/03/2021 18:45

I had mine at 10:30 this morning.

So far I'm just starting to feel warm, achy and have twinges of a headache. Am thinking it'll hit at about the 12hr mark (so tonight for me). Am taking paracetamol before bed

AlwaysColdHands · 27/03/2021 18:53

I think you might be me OP, I also had mine at 1pm, awaiting any effects (just mild punch in the arm pain), and dying to get up to lakes!! 😀 Hope neither of us wind up with side effects, all my family have been absolutely fine after theirs 🤞

silkpillowcases · 27/03/2021 18:56

I had mine Thursday AM and started with a headache 4 hours after. Then had almost 48 hours of what felt like the worst flu ever, including vomiting, but now I'm just tired. Had to take Friday off work.

I had mild covid last year and have read if you've had it before your reaction will be on a bigger scale. Have also read the second dose isn't as bad!

Despite the hell of the last 2 days, it was worth it.

SillyBub · 27/03/2021 18:59

3 hours since mine and unsurprisingly nothing yet!

DH had his at 11am a week ago today and by 8pm was on the sofa, freezing cold under a blanket. The cold feeling had gone by the next morning but he then had a good few days of feeling really groggy/tired.

My mum had hers a couple of months ago and didn't have a single after effect. Here's hoping that's in the genes!

ThisIsMeOrIsIt · 27/03/2021 19:00

I had mine about 10am yesterday. By 9pm yesterday night I was shivery and achy. Woke up this morning and have been absolutely useless all day - nauseous, achy, cold, hot, fatigued. I'm hoping it'll pass tomorrow so I can go back to work okay on Monday.

GnomeDePlume · 27/03/2021 19:05

Quite bad diarrhoea for about 36 hours. Stayed close to the bathroom. No real pain at the injection site.

DH had bad cramp the night after the injection and a sore arm.

Both of us fine after 48 hours.

manicinsomniac · 27/03/2021 19:16

7 of my colleagues have had it the last 3 weeks. 6 of them had to take a day off school the next day - uncontrollable shivers, vomiting or nausea and headaches mostly, I think.

But all the old people i know who've had it have been absolutely fine afterwards. It's weird.

namesnamesnamesnames · 27/03/2021 19:20

Very shivery cold that night, very unpleasant headache the next day which lifted about 6pm, but my head still hurt when I moved too quickly.

Spodge · 27/03/2021 19:22

Mine started after about 10 hours (bar the sore arm which kicked in quickly and lasted nearly a week). All I had was crushing fatigue. That in itself lasted about 12 hours and vanished as quickly as it came on.

roguetomato · 27/03/2021 19:27

I had one last Sunday. No side effects, just a bit of sore arm, that was it.

malaboi · 27/03/2021 19:34

Had mine at 8.30am, started to feel tired at 6pm, then freezing/shivery. Bit of a cough all day. Still feel cold & bit of a headache now, will go to bed soon.
