Yes (already do).
Much happier now mine need confirming by pcr (originally work ones didnt need confirmation) Chance of false positive on lateral flow, followed by false positive on pcr must be pretty low.

We ordered the LFT from the Gov website when schools went back, DH (public facing key worker role does them twice a week now), I'm furloughed so I've been doing them but only once a week, will start doing twice a week I think when I'm back in a public role next month.

Weird! people saying no - these must be all the people who are actually quite enjoying lock down

I doubt it. I expect most of them are on zero hours contracts or have arseholes for employers. It doesn't make it right though.

happytobemrsg · 22/03/2021 08:06

Yes. Have been since schools went back this month

I would like to understand whether there's any residual ethylene oxide on the swabs. If so, how much... And if so, what the implications are of using these twice weekly..

Yes, but I WFH so hardly see anyone. 16 yr old DS is managing to self test himself twice a week. I can too.

Would you test if you thought you had symptoms?
lockeddownandcrazy · 22/03/2021 08:21

yes, am doing

TreeDice · 22/03/2021 08:22

Of course - and people wonder why lockdowns keep happening and cases keep rising every few months Hmm

CthulhuChristmas · 22/03/2021 08:23

No.

I'd do a saliva test though - I know someone whose workplace is using those instead.

user1495884673 · 22/03/2021 08:23

No but...

If I was doing something higher risk, eg train travel to another city and meeting clients / colleagues, or going to an indoor social event, I probably would. But I don't socialise a huge amount and at the moment I am largely working from home, as is the rest of the household, and I can't see that changing in the near future so there is little point testing. And all the plastic waste this pandemic is producing concerns me as well.

AlexaShutUp · 22/03/2021 08:23

Yes.

Have been doing it since dd started back at school.

Some truth in it my dd tested positive and since Christmas all she’s done is go to work and the odd walk to the local shops . Then you see and hear of people having socially distanced parties or visiting relatives so it’s kind of annoying that so many don’t want to test in fear of having to take time off . I suppose it will only work if compulsory but that will never happen .
