Not willingly (although I know I will probably have to when we start retuning to the office)

I'm dreading it.

Dental instruments at the back of my mouth making me gag repeatedly (especially the little suction tube) are what make me hate dread going to the hygienist

@Helloandhappyday

Yes. Why wouldn't you?
DH and I work from home, and I don't go anywhere except the park. My older DS goes to an outdoor nursery.

We've just got a letter about mass testing in the borough and I'm like: "queuing for a mass test is the biggest risk of getting COVID I'm likely to take in a given week. So, nope."

@Poorlykitten

I understand the time off work thing but if you get a positive test you are spreading to your fellow co-workers and clients anyway so are just creating more problems.
But not everyone has co-workers and clients, and works inside.

I'm a dog walker. I work alone. I go into empty houses, collect the dogs and spend all day in the open air with them.

If I had symptoms and tested positive then of course I would isolate, but I'm not about to take 10 days off work (completely unpaid) when I feel absolutely fine and have zero symptoms. Sorry, but I'm not. I need to keep my business running.

GreenBalaclava · 24/03/2021 15:36

Yes I would if asked to.

Poorlykitten · 24/03/2021 19:17

That makes no sense as you would only do this with a LFT too, you wouldn’t take a test and then have to self isolate unless it came up positive?? I don’t understand. 🧐

My working life is in a sense a CV19 life - I have worked fro home entirely alone since 1994. I go to the post box each day. I stopped doing all meetings and business travel about 3 years ago as I hated them. If a client wants a meeting they can find a different supplier as I won't do it. So no I would not do these tests.

Uggh latest update from Austria is that people will need a negative test result to enter non-essential shops starting from April 7th. There's a lot of pressure to expand this to supermarkets and pharmacies due to unfair competition. The time limit is most likely 48 or 36 hours since the government is openly running a campaign encouraging people to get tested every 3 days.

So yeah, if they want people tested they will find ways to do so.

cheninblanc · 24/03/2021 22:43

Yes, daughter and husband have been since January and me at work

Mummapenguin20 · 24/03/2021 23:01

Nope, if i went to the drs twice a week asking for brain scans with out symptoms of any kind to need one id be diagnosed munchausen syndrome. So why would testing for a virus that i have no symptoms of be any diffrent? Now if i had symptoms of course id test and follow guidlines

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 24/03/2021 23:06

No. The only time I'm going outside the home mixing with people at the moment is to shop at ALDI. DD is doing the LFTs for school twice a week so I can't see the point in me doing them.
