It takes 30 minutes for the result of asymptomatic lateral flow testing.

PrawnofthePatriarchy · 22/03/2021 14:10

No.

Racoonworld · 22/03/2021 14:10

@HelloMissus They are talking about the LFTs which give a result in 30 mins. No long waits Smile

Flyonawalk · 22/03/2021 14:11

No.

howmanyhats · 22/03/2021 14:14

Yes.

Parents are already entitled to 2 free tests a week, if your child is in education or nursery. People working in education can get them too.

Our school and local health authority have been crap at publicising this, though, no one knows about it!

You can find out where to get free tests near you, here: www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests

MRex · 22/03/2021 14:17

Happy to for a limited period if it's backed up by PCR tests for a positive, or as checks if there are outbreaks in my area.

Maryann1975 · 22/03/2021 14:17

Yes and me and the dc are already doing so. I’d much rather know if Any of us are asymptomatic so We are not passing germs to anyone at school or work.

LucyCC · 22/03/2021 14:30

Yes. I love a test (I don’t know why 😔)

GiveMeNovocain · 22/03/2021 14:34
@GiveMeNovocain I'm not in Wales. I'm in England where the roadmap is more optimistic, with normality estimated for late June. I'd like that to happen, if this can make it happen I'm all for it.
Wales' figures are better than England's and they've not kept a single promise so far. I hope you're right because if England open it will help us, but I have lost any faith at all. I shave no idea what they hope to achieve from all this but no way am I doing anything to help Drakeford think that we support his stance. I'd keep a careful eye over the border - you believe Johnson is any more trustworthy? They're all as bad as each other.

poppycat10 · 22/03/2021 14:37

@Okbussitout

Yes. Why wouldn't I?
Because like me you might not want to shove swabs up your nose and down your throat every few days. Happy to be vaccinated, not doing a test unless I have symptoms. Complete waste of time for someone like me who works from home. DS is our weakest link because he goes to college and he is testing every few days.
RoseWineTime · 22/03/2021 14:40

Yes am already going so.

@yikesanotherbooboo

It might have been said but do those who are worried about false positives and the wait for pcr results affecting their income( I am very sympathetic by the way) isolate if their DC have temperatures or they themselves have symptoms? I realise that I am lucky to have safe employment and to to have to weigh these things up but the poi t is not about the individual ; again it is about the population at large and protecting the economy from a further C19 wave.
I'd isolate if I had symptoms, yes. Only had to do it on one occasion and my test result came back the next day.

All very well saying "it's about the population at large" are the population at large going to pay my bills every time I have to isolate? No. In this case myself and DS come first.

Because I can't afford to keep taking 2 weeks off work when I only get SSP. So no.

I don't get it. Why do they need healthy people to test. Someone explain.
