No chance.

SplendidSuns1000 · 22/03/2021 13:29

No. I don't go out enough for it to matter, I'd only test if I knew I was going to see people.

Racoonworld · 22/03/2021 13:36

@GiveMeNovocain becuase, because this is the one suggestion (apart from vaccines) that I've heard that sounds both achievable and sensible to keep cases down. It's not sustainable much longer to keep people form seeing others. This can replace that and help to keep cases low enough. The vaccines are great but not enough are vaccinated yet to have a big enough impact. That will come, but until then this is an actually sensible suggestion we can do so that we can get back some normality. I want a good spring/summer and can see this as a way to achieve that.

dividedwefall · 22/03/2021 13:38

No. Will be used to inflate case numbers to keep lockdown going, stop kids going to school and get more money in Tory pockets.

dividedwefall · 22/03/2021 13:40

@en0la

I'm not convinced the tests work, high school of 1300 and they all tested negative.
maybe none of them had it?
Cloudyrainsham · 22/03/2021 13:41

Yes

Illegible · 22/03/2021 13:42

Yes

SpnBaby1967 · 22/03/2021 13:46

No, I've been doing enough "greater good" for a year now.

Eaumyword · 22/03/2021 13:48

Yes, have been twice weekly since January.
I work in a school and we've already had a member of staff test positive this month on a lateral flow at home, backed up by a PCR test. That member if staff was asymptomatic, so would have come in and potentially infected certain staff and pupils. Fortunately, thanks to the home LFT's, it meant they did not come in to school.
I understand it is personal choice, but believe that widespead testing and vaccination is our way out of this as a community and a nation.
I also believe that there should be adequate SSP in place so as not to negatively impact an employee and no employment sanctions for any legitimate and necessary isolations.

ofwarren · 22/03/2021 13:48

Yes

wendz86 · 22/03/2021 13:49

Yes I am as a parent of primary school children anyway .

whatswithtodaytoday · 22/03/2021 13:50

Yes, I'd happily do this.

Okbussitout · 22/03/2021 13:51

Yes. Why wouldn't I?

HappyPumpkin81 · 22/03/2021 13:51

No

loulouljh · 22/03/2021 13:53

No.

Okbussitout · 22/03/2021 13:56

@CaribGrackle an others asking why would you.

In case I have asymptomatic covid and pass it on to somone and the get really ill or die. Or the person/people I give it to also get asymptomatic covid and pass it on etc. Surely it's fairly obvious that the point of testing?

Comefromaway · 22/03/2021 13:56

No

Comefromaway · 22/03/2021 13:57

It is already recommended/available in my area.

Louisa111 · 22/03/2021 13:58

Yes .

I do already as have a primary age child. I have no problem with it .

Nonsense. Look at the numbers in Wales. We're doing so well they've got rid of the indicators and told us normality won't return this year.

ValerieMorghulis · 22/03/2021 14:04

Yes, we’ll be doing it.

At the moment DD is doing the school testing, then when term ends DH and I will take over and do our own. I have the kits already. Currently DD is the only one actually having contact with people but it will be nice to give her a break from the tests while she’s off school; I assume they’ll want a couple done before they all go back in though

Racoonworld · 22/03/2021 14:06

@GiveMeNovocain I'm not in Wales. I'm in England where the roadmap is more optimistic, with normality estimated for late June. I'd like that to happen, if this can make it happen I'm all for it.

Rainbowsandstorms · 22/03/2021 14:06

Yes I’m already doing it as a parent of a Primary School child.

Woodpecker22 · 22/03/2021 14:07

Any one know how much each covid test costs the nhs? If they are say £10 a go that is around £40m x 2 x 52 x 10 so around £41 billion a year.

This is about a quarter of the nhs annual budget. I am unclear how this represents value for money gaving that test and trace has been shown to have no clear impact.

HelloMissus · 22/03/2021 14:09

If it would help get life back to normal, then yes.
However, if I had to self isolate while I waited for the result, they no.
The last test my DH took, we never heard back. Kept chasing. In the end they admitted it hadn’t been analysed and was now too old.
