Online booking now taking 53 yrs and over, even though front page still saying 55 and over.

Excellent news!

Alwaysfrank · 12/03/2021 09:07

Not working for me I'm afraid.

whereshalligo · 12/03/2021 09:09

Just tried aged 54 and not eligible still

stressedsloth · 12/03/2021 09:16

This is only for certain areas.

Pushkinia · 12/03/2021 09:17

Not working in my area yet either - I tried first thing this morning.

ThatsTheTea · 12/03/2021 09:17

My partner is 32 and the doctors have just called him up. No heath conditions. I think it’s area and surgery dependant because I’m registered elsewhere (same area) and my moms only just been called up for hers (55) at the same surgery as me.

Aposterhasnoname · 12/03/2021 09:18

Not for me Sad

Chill08 · 12/03/2021 09:18

Not for me yet. Hopefully wont be long

sashh · 12/03/2021 09:18

Thank you, I'm now booked in for Monday and second dose in June.

PurplePi · 12/03/2021 09:19

Not for me either. 54 WMids. :(

mommybunny · 12/03/2021 09:21

No, me neither, I’m 53 and still can’t book. Your NHS number must tie you to a particular NHS trust and they screen you against your area’s actual availability before deciding whether you can go on to book or not. Definitely worth it to keep trying but don’t be surprised if you’re on the cusp if you still can’t get through.

sashh · 12/03/2021 09:22

@PurplePi

I'm in Wolverhampton, the options were Bloxwich, Walsal and Bilston. I'm 54.

PurplePi · 12/03/2021 09:28

@sashh

Oh that's good. :)

I'm a bit further over than you. I'd get Stoneleigh, I think. Hopefully it'll update us soon.

WombatChocolate · 12/03/2021 09:35

Which areas are finding 53+ can book? Which areas are having no success?

It suggests the groups are being added as we speak. It is likely that by the end of the day or weekend more people in those groups WILL be able to book, so keep retrying, even if it doesn’t work this morning.

Chickychickydodah · 12/03/2021 09:37

On another post a op says her dh is 36 and booked for his🤷‍♀️

changi · 12/03/2021 09:41

He is group 6 and booked through his GP. It's not the same thing as booking on the .gov website.

MotherBuckets · 12/03/2021 09:48

I'm 51 and booked mine via the website on Saturday so its definitely partly dependent on where you live (I'm in West Yorks)

mommybunny · 12/03/2021 09:51

53 and can’t book in Surrey Heartlands.

WombatChocolate · 12/03/2021 09:54

Remember there are 2 booking systems....lots of people don’t realise this.

There is the national booking system. People can book without a direct invite if they meet the criteria of eligibility. This give people appointments at the bigger centres usually. Letters eventually arrive to invite people for these appointments and they are just about to start using a text direct invitation system too, but letters will also follow as not everyone has a mobile or the NHS doesn’t have everyone’s number.

And then there is a separate GP led system. They mostly text people now with a link to a DIFFERENT booking system which mostly offers localised services.

When people get a text, so far it has been via the GP service. And all these are running at their own rates determined by the age demographic of their area and local supply issues. That’s why there is a difference in most cases.

When people can book on the national system at a year or two younger than the front page shows, it’s often that the system is currently being updated but I takes a couple of days...so gradually more and more can access it. Once all added, they update the front page.

So on this thread, some people are talking about the national booking system and some about GP led services....and you can’t always tell which is which.

mommybunny · 12/03/2021 10:20

Quite right WombatChocolate. I am using the national system as I haven’t had a text or letter from my GP.

My SIL’s DP (52) was able to book through national website last weekend. He is in a different part of Surrey to me.

LindainLockdown · 12/03/2021 10:28

Bah, got sucked in and gave it a go, not eligible of course. Wonder if they'll push me down the queue now for being impatient!

mommybunny · 12/03/2021 10:32

Oh no Linda! 😱😱. If that’s the case I’m definitely going lower than you!

LindainLockdown · 12/03/2021 10:35

Patience is definitely no longer a virtue these days.

PurplePi · 12/03/2021 10:37

I just feel like I keep going on tiptoes to see if there's any movement at the front of the queue! It's just getting so close...
:D
