Would you go on holiday in the UK if allowed in April?

Just that, really. If self catering holidays in the UK are allowed to go ahead in April, and you had one booked, would you go?

I'd love to go, just for the change of scene. We had a holiday booked for Easter that had been moved forward from last April.
DH moved it forward again to October as he doesn't want to go if the pubs are still closed!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 15/02/2021 18:27

Definitely. We've got a long weekend booked in March which I know is unlikely to go ahead but I'm hopeful for the week we've got booked in May. We went away at the beginning of December and had an amazing time - we really appreciated it then!

marieantoinehairnet · 15/02/2021 18:28

Yes with bells on, all I do on hols is chill in my accommodation, go on long secluded walks and but nice food to cook - this kind of holiday is as save as staying home

HackAttack · 15/02/2021 18:41

Vaccinated and booked for April

TinyGlassOwl · 15/02/2021 18:42

Yes, we've just booked an Airbnb by the sea, just for 3 nights. Entirely self-contained and self-catering. Can't wait.

TinyGlassOwl · 15/02/2021 18:44

And yes, no cooking - takeaway and picnics all the way!

FishWithoutABike · 15/02/2021 18:46

We have one booked and I’m desperate to be able to go. Our plan is to have tests before hand.

ClaudiaWankleman · 15/02/2021 18:47

Yes! Although I am not sure I am prepared to pay the amount I have currently seen cottages/ self catering go for!

Hitchyhero · 15/02/2021 18:53

I've been inside these 4 walls for 2 years (1 year adoption, and 1 year working from home).

I'll be going on holiday in June if permitted. I don't care if restaurants and amenities are closed. I just want to leave the house and go for a walk that's not my local council estate.

kessiebird · 15/02/2021 18:55

Yes. Moved a 2020 break to Easter 2021 so if they open we are going. It's in the same county. Our original break was Scotland and they shut the border and put us in Tier 3 so we could only stay in our own county.

QueenofBrickdon · 15/02/2021 18:56

Yes but we've all had COVID already!

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 15/02/2021 18:59

I'd love to go up and see my parents, so yeah

actiongirl1978 · 15/02/2021 19:05

No point if we can't go to the pub or out for lunch.
I'm sick of cooking and would love a break, but same shit, different view has no appeal.

I will however be able to meet my parents for a walk who live 30mins away!

The numbers now are the same as October - when we went on holiday to Cornwall and had a glorious few days eating and drinking. Don't understand the hiding yourself away mentality.

user1487194234 · 15/02/2021 19:06

Absolutely

grandmasterstitch · 15/02/2021 19:11

Yep. We have a weekend booked in March which I doubt will go ahead but I'm hoping we can move it to April and go before my baby arrives! It was moved from November to December to January to March and I'm dying to go!

Fleurchamp · 15/02/2021 19:35

Yes, we have a holiday booked for May half term which was switched from last May. It is a self catering cottage and so I would hope that even if pubs and restaurants are not open we could still go as we usually stick to picnics and takeaways anyway when on holiday and we would be going as a single household.

bluechameleon · 15/02/2021 19:38

I would in an isolated self catering cottage. I wouldn't go to one that was part of a complex, or with a larger group. We have Center Parcs booked for the end of March and I won't want to go even if it is open, I don't think it will be a good idea.

Mamascoven · 15/02/2021 19:41

Hell yes!

FlameHairedRachel · 15/02/2021 19:44

I’m not sure pubs & restaurants would be fully open by Easter, so the London trip I’d usually go on will most probably be a no!

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 15/02/2021 19:45

for a long weekend I'd be happy just with different walks, different takeaways, and different walls to look at, even if everything else is shut. so very much yes.

SlipperyLizard · 15/02/2021 19:46

We’ve just booked camping at Easter near in laws in case we’re able to go but not allowed inside houses.

I’m 50/50 as to whether I think it will go ahead.

Chimeraforce · 15/02/2021 19:52

Yes. I've got one booked since January. Fingers crossed as we're raring to go.
If not, it's refundable if unable to go due to "rules or tiers".

Lovely1a2b3c · 15/02/2021 19:54

I'm not sure. I think only if all of my family were vaccinated as the Covid rates are still very high. I would go in the summer if the rates are much lower (did this last year) even if not fully vaccinated.

Sparklingbrook · 15/02/2021 19:55

No, I'm happy to wait for the rush to subside, and we've reached the stage where we don't need to go in the school holidays.

CherryRoulade · 15/02/2021 19:56

Just waiting for the starter gun.
