Welcome to the new thread! I will copy over links from the previous thread soon.

Please note, this is a thread to share good news and for wobblers to be reassured. Doomploppers will be met with scorn and derision!

@NeedingCoffee

Thought we needed another gratuitous picture of an easy-on-the-eye young man getting vaccinated.... apparently they’re offering a free drink with your vaccine in Tel Aviv 🤣
Some people will do anything for a free drink 🤣

Hi welike.

I absolutely hear you and get you. I've been struggling with the same. I've been finding useful stuff in conscious parenting which comes from a position of needing to heal the parent first. Dr Shefali is the name people talk about.

PullUpTrev · 19/02/2021 14:09

My personal good news, my 50 year old Dad had his jab yesterday! He has asthma but otherwise isn't vulnerable so I was really surprised he'd been called so quickly Smile

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 19/02/2021 14:12

Brilliant PullUpTrev! Maybe it won’t be long now for 53yo dh (not that I am worried, but it will be nice!)

Fingers crossed!!

Apparently our GP practice just called him in the evening and said if he could come down straight away they had left over they were offering to people!

@FuzzyPuffling

BigWoollyJumpers isn't it great when that happens? We've had tapas and pizzas in our village. (Can't wait to be let out of shielding to have the pizza, you can keep tapas!)

I'm having a slight personal wobble today, as tomorrow is vaccine day. Just have a feeling I might feel ill with it (based on previous vaccine experience) and I'm not looking forward to that. Send vibes (and chocolate bunnies) please! Oh...I really REALLY want the vaccine, don't get me wrong on that one...!

I had the Pfizer vaccine yesterday, not had the flu vaccine for the last few years because it made me feel so ill. Had a bit of arm pain through the night which has now gone and was hit by a massive wave of exhaustion and brain fog around 10am today which feels like it's starting to disappear now (after randomly sleeping for an hour). I'm usually on the go from 6am to 10pm so its been weird to feel so tired, but still so much better than how I was when I was ill at Christmas 2019
Welikebeingcosy · 19/02/2021 14:26

Oh no that's just making me want to go abroad even more hahahaha

Welikebeingcosy · 19/02/2021 14:30

Oops replied a bit late to the Tel Aviv photo haha. My phone didn't show that we had gotten into page 29! Yeah this group is soooo appreciated

Frequentflier · 19/02/2021 14:42

Not been on here for a bit but my husband in Group 6 has just gone for his vaccination. Very grateful, especially now that schools may start soon. The vaccine rollout has been amazing!

BigWoollyJumpers · 19/02/2021 14:48

Loving all this good news on vaccination of the middle agers Grin. Hopefully DH will be done soon. He is only 55, so haven't really thought about it much, as we never considered it to be so soon, but having had Lyme disease two years ago, and six months off work, he has been quite careful over the last year, as we never know how his immune system may react. It will be really nice for him to not have to be so wary of interactions.

OrangeBananaFish · 19/02/2021 15:07

@Welikebeingcosy you mentioned the weather. I find the same. On bright sunny days I find it a lot easier to be cheerful. When the weather is gloomy it does feel harder. I've found this month hardest probably due to the weather. We've had a lot of snow where I am and it just seemed to not go anywhere for days (even now there is still a bit lying about on grass verges and in the odd field). I'm just hoping that once the spring comes the weather will get warmer and lift the spirits. Just over a week until March, we'll get there.

alreadytaken · 19/02/2021 15:23

There is a thread on mumsnet about toddler tantrums at the moment - I linked to it a page or two back. Apart from the one forgetful parent claiming their child was perfect it's quite funny.

I no longer remember what most of my child's tantrums were about but do remember picking them up and holding them upside down or tickling them to make them stop (that one especially for the breath holding tantrums). It's a phase, this too will pass.

TheChineseChicken · 19/02/2021 16:11

Cases 12,027 (15,144 last Fri)
Deaths 522 (758 last Fri)

Cases look to be plateauing BUT last Friday were slightly higher than last Thurs and Weds so actually it's a bigger drop versus a week go than the last two days have been

TheChineseChicken · 19/02/2021 16:13

Fri 19 v. Fri 12 = -3,117
Thurs 18 v. Thurs 11 = -1,437
Weds 17 v. Weds 10 = -295

Level75 · 19/02/2021 16:18

Pfizer vaccine can be stored at freezer temp for 2 weeks making it much easier to distribute and use!

Really good to see it laid out like this - the daily rates are so “cyclical” that this is the only true comparison in my view
louisejxxx · 19/02/2021 16:49

Cant believe how fast this thread is filling up! I agree about looking at the cases data - it is fairly pointless to compare day on day, much better looking at the rolling average or comparing each day compared to the same day the previous week.

Pomegranatespompom · 19/02/2021 17:01

Lots of threads to avoid today 🙄

Sorry to hear about struggles, very happy to see all the vaccine news.

Gratefulrunner · 19/02/2021 17:02

I’m not sure how true this is but I happened to see the Daily Mail announcing all over 40s to be vaccinated by end of March. That would include me (only just I should add!).
Albeit i would quite like key workers to get it too regardless of age

Frazzled2207 · 19/02/2021 17:05

I saw that too and don’t believe it tbh. Don’t mind a bit of optimism tho!

Gosh that’s good
Blerg · 19/02/2021 17:51

Hi all, thanks for all the optimism. I’m group 6 and have been called - going in next week. Really surprised it was so soon.

FuzzyPuffling · 19/02/2021 18:25

Good news Blerg...that's good to hear.
