Getting GP to amend vaccination group

I had to call my GP for something today. While I was on the phone I asked what group my DH would be in. The receptionist said he would be group 8 by age.

I explained he should be group 6 because he has heart issues. She said there was nothing she could do.

I am CEV and worried about my DH getting it and passing it on to me.

Should I persevere with the GP or contact my husband's consultant?

Thank you

@Crumpetycrump snap me too! I saw history of VTE and thought I should be group 6 but my GP said that as I’m otherwise fit and healthy I don’t qualify (it says that nowhere in the green book, it just says history of VTE). Someone’s made the decision that blood clot history is a risk factor but my GP just said I’m low risk and won’t have the vaccine early - it makes no sense.

It says at the bottom of that list it is not exhaustive and clinical judgement to be used... maybe worth talking to the GP in more detail, or writing to them (putting things in writing is a good record sometimes)

I wonder if they take into account age, and perhaps sex as well as it says something about overall risk and clinical judgement, under 40s being in general low risk

Just to update. We finally got a call from the GP. He apologised profusely for the receptionist and changed the group my husband was in. He is now in Group 6 and should get the vaccination in the next month. His heart attack had not been entered onto the system.
