What fresh hell is this.

Why, why, why was the Oxford trial/data reporting so sloppy?

How has it come to this??

Sturgeon wants a commitment from the EU that they will allow Scotland to reenter rapidly, as this could be determinative in any future referendum on scottish independance. So far, that's something the EU has declined to do. Do I think she would throw the UK vaccine rollout under a bus to achieve that? Yes. Yes, I do.

Blessex · 28/01/2021 15:34

@MRex. It’s truly crazy what is happening! Meanwhile we carry on getting jabs in arms.

MyHeartIsNeverOnTime · 28/01/2021 15:34

Actually looking at table 4 in the MHRA document — which relates to immunogenicity — it’s notable that over 65s produced significantly less nAbs (neutralising antibodies) than under 65s. And initial immunogenicity is different to efficacy. It’s one thing to raise antibodies in the first instance, it’s another to sustain them.

The older we get the fewer immune cells we produce. This is precisely why the elderly are at risk from C19, an inability to raise enough T cells, in particular.

@Motorina oh good god what has she said now.

Or without a paywall, but not a publication I am familiar with, so can't speak to it's reliability eminetra.co.uk/nicola-sturgeon-accused-of-taking-eus-side-in-vaccine-supply-row/253559/

Agree

Seriously who can vote for this woman. It is so bloody obvious she cares for nobody other than herself or her agenda. She is willing to put lives at risk in her own country. It’s insane

MRex · 28/01/2021 15:44

Crikey. Sturgeon may find that's very unpopular in Scotland, most Scots are more honourable.

Blessex · 28/01/2021 15:47

@MRex she is risking their LIVES!!!!!

Blessex · 28/01/2021 15:47

Boris should say that we can therefore divert Scottish vaccines to the EU. Honestly she is just terrible. I am in shock.

Blessex · 28/01/2021 15:50

Here we all are. Busy working together. As one United nation. Vaccinating everybody super fast. And one of the the members of that nation wants to screw it up for her own gain. And to curry favour with those who are wanting to put a foot in our vaccination programme because of their own ineptitude. Please Scottish people. Please please now see her for what she is.

That would be a fairly consistent behaviour from the English to the Scots.

Kill some of them, that'll learn them.

No stay out of it let lawyers battle it out
MarshaBradyo · 28/01/2021 15:51

He should... stay I mean

Blessex · 28/01/2021 15:52

@MrsTerryPratchett sorry. The English are HELPING the Scots. The Scots seem to want to screw that up themselves though.

Blessex · 28/01/2021 15:53

@MrsTerryPratchett and bring us ALL down in the meantime. I am FURIOUS at her.

Blessex · 28/01/2021 15:54

@MarshaBradyo yes you are right of course. Stay adult. Rise above the pettiness. Just my first childlike reaction when hearing her childlike statement.

Sunshinegirl82 · 28/01/2021 15:54

I'm not sure what difference it makes whether NS publishes the figures or not in practical terms. Either the U.K. is contractually entitled to the doses it has received or it is not. Without seeing the contract that the U.K. has with AZ the numbers on their own are pretty meaningless it seems to me.

MarshaBradyo · 28/01/2021 15:54

Blessex it makes them look really bad

Downing Street refuses to rule out sending vaccines to the EU in certain circumstances
Downing Street has refused to rule out the possibility of the UK sending vaccine supplies to the EU once the most vulnerable people in the UK have been vaccinated, assuming the timetable to vaccinate other adults by September stays on track.

In somewhat confusing exchanges during the daily No 10 media briefing – which is currently held by conference call – Boris Johnson’s spokesperson repeatedly refused to rule out the idea, but also did not say it was being considered.

The questions came amid an escalating row over provision of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine after AstraZeneca guaranteed supplies to the UK but said provision for the EU, which signed a contract later, would be initially delayed due to production problems.

Course she would!!!

I don’t think she’s doing herself any favours here. It says an awful lot about her character.
