So ive just had an email supposedly from nhs to invite me for covid vaccine. This is apparently basedvon med history and family genetics yet they started letter dear then email address used instead of name.

Theres 2 links, one to accept and one to reject invite. They take you to nhs site where they ask for your personal info (name dob address etc and contact details and mothers maiden name).

Do i need to report as fraud?

What is the url of the link?

sycamorescrumptious · 25/01/2021 16:29

Yes! Mothers maiden name is a common password reset hint - they're phishing

titchy · 25/01/2021 16:30

Just delete. Obvious phish.

islockdownoveryet · 25/01/2021 16:35

Absolutely the 2 different links are a giveaway and I don’t think you will get a email anyway .
Usually fake emails the spelling and grammar is wrong too . And you can usually tell my the email address. If you google the nhs website and see what the email says.

Ostryga · 25/01/2021 16:37

Did it come from covid.track? I got my vaccination appointment through that, it takes me to my local hospital website to book.

Also used my full name.

Ostryga · 25/01/2021 16:41

This is what it looks like, and the booking page.

I have received on today also with only one link to book the appointment. When you click on it the URL starts as dodgy then changed quickly to look official ( NHS it etc) buts is asking for NI number, DOB, etc. Not what the official website ask for if you go through the NHS website. Total scam

LadyCatStark · 25/01/2021 16:43

Definitely a scam, please tell me you didn’t enter your details!

Ostryga · 25/01/2021 16:44

Yeah you only have to set up a password for the email invite, no other info needed, just a mobile number to send a confirmation.

SailorGirl3 · 25/01/2021 16:44

This is what my scam email looked like (and no I didn't fill in the form)

Looks like a scam to get your personal details like DoB and mother's maiden name, would the NHS even know your mother's maiden name

huggzy · 25/01/2021 16:45

I had one like this today, definitely not genuine! If you click on the senders name at the top it'll bring up the email address it came from...see pic. Definitely not from the NHS.

It's a scam, mine was sent by email but to my nhs email and it didn't have 2 links it had one and then had to fill in loads of info.
Please tell me you didn't click anything?

snowy0wl · 25/01/2021 16:57

There are lots of phishing attacks going on atm. Please ensure you report these to the NCSC.

GrumpyHoonMain · 25/01/2021 17:19

the website is not a secure one so it’s a scam. You can fwd it to [email protected]

bellagogosdead · 25/01/2021 17:27

Pretty sure it's only done by phone or letter. Report as above ^

Crumpetycrump · 25/01/2021 17:37

I had this scam email today too.

Hairwizard · 25/01/2021 18:46

Hi
No i didnt fill it out. The use of email rather than name alerted me. I clicked on link to see what came up and looked like nhs site but again was alerted by the request for personal info.

Ive since received another one in diff format ive not clicked anything in that one but seems i got that one from clicking in other one.

Ive reported anyway.
