If you are a front line worker, have you had your vaccine yet?

And if so, when and what is your role?

I was quite surprised to be asked to book a vaccine, I work in a health and social care role and surprised to hear of others in professions such as dentists and paramedics etc who haven't yet been invited to book theirs.

I hope those who are in roles working closely with the public, particularly in health care/ caring services get their invite soon! I feel guilty taking up a place knowing others in a vulnerable setting havent yet had the opportunity to book theirs.

Partner of DS is A&E nurse. Had her jab on 5th Jan thankfully. I'm hoping DS, secondary teacher, might get one before schools reopen to all.
All the nurses at my doctors surgery have had it.

I’m an OT working in a hospital and had my vaccine on New Year’s Eve. They were offered first in our hospital to staff working on the Covid wards, of which I was one. Our hospital has now given the first vaccination to 98% of its staff, which I think is great. We have over 300 Covid patients in the hospital and outbreaks on many of the non-Covid wards so it’s very important for staff to be vaccinated, I think.
A word of warning though. I tested positive for Covid a week after having the vaccine and I know of other colleagues who have had the same. It takes up to 3 weeks for the antibodies to build up in sufficient numbers, and even then it’s only a partial protection.

Great, good news more people getting vaccinated, I wonder what the figures will be today.

Also bit of an embarrasing question!!!

I am due to get mine done at the end of the week, I have a needle phobia which usually ends in me feeling faint/going green. I am due to attend a hospital clinic, are we allowed to bring a partner in with us? I am going to assume not, but thought it was worth the ask. Keep trying to stop myself from talking myself out of it with all sorts of excuse. Absolutely ridiculous as I know how bloody lucky I am to be in this position.

I have also been emailed to say to bring the QR code attached to the email - but nothing attached! has anyone else had this problem before?
