If you are a front line worker, have you had your vaccine yet?

And if so, when and what is your role?

I was quite surprised to be asked to book a vaccine, I work in a health and social care role and surprised to hear of others in professions such as dentists and paramedics etc who haven't yet been invited to book theirs.

I hope those who are in roles working closely with the public, particularly in health care/ caring services get their invite soon! I feel guilty taking up a place knowing others in a vulnerable setting havent yet had the opportunity to book theirs.

@wlv12 so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother, I'm not surprised you're drained and exhausted. Take it easy and take care! Flowers

Community pharmacy, had mine last week. Work in wales not far from a mass vaccination hub.

I know some paramedics that work at the closest hospital (in England) hadn't had theirs last week.

Some trusts are instructing GPs to prioritise their frontline patients. Others seem to be sending out links to book appointments but you need NHS ID when you attend and will be turned away if you are not an NHS employee. HR depts are also arranging vaccination for some workers who don’t fall into a particular trust.
Our trust sent out link for dentist ,pharmacists and opticians last Fri for the following week. I think they will do this weekly so they know how much vaccine they need to order. Our local GPs are using receptionists to act dumb. They probably know that the trust is offering vaccine to frontline NHS so they don’t have to spend time filtering out those who are eligible.
To receive the vaccine you do need your NHS number which I presume is how they are monitoring uptake.
If you don’t know your NHS number news the time to dig it out so you are ready for a short notice appointment.

Community mental health and have been offered it through a few routes. Don't feel guilty booking this is a mass vaccination campaign the order of things wont be right all the time but they need to get the numbers through. Do your bit and turn up and get jabbed.

I had mine on Saturday, I'm a nurse working on the front line currently working on a ward which is a covid step down from ITU

RNlife · 21/01/2021 20:49

I had mine last week, I’m an ICU nurse too.

Harrykanesrightsock · 21/01/2021 20:52

I had mine on Monday. I do feel guilty as I am admin. However I oversee 12 units with vulnerable adults and I know I am having the vaccine to protect them not me. I haven't told anyone IRL as I feel like I have jumped the queue but the charity I work for have been quite insistent everyone us vaccinated ASAP.

Poshjock · 21/01/2021 20:53

Going on Monday! No idea what one I'm getting. I'm an occupational medic with a "population" of 70 front line industry people I'm in constant contact with. I'm attending a local hospital to get it, after I was added to their list on confirmation of my occupation.

herecomestreble · 21/01/2021 20:59

I could have had my first at the beginning of January, but found out I'd received both as part of the vaccine study in the summer.

CosmicComfort · 21/01/2021 21:00

I’m an inpatient nurse, had mine beginning of Jan. Could have had it before Christmas but was working😩 Our Trust has been great and they have now opened bookings to all Trust staff, frontline or otherwise.

I have just seen that my local newly opened vaccine center is offering vaccine to health and social care workers who haven’t accessed it through work which is positive.

MrsBeltane · 21/01/2021 21:04

School nurse, redeployed to mass vaccination centre.
I've had both doses of the Pfizer vaccine.

Busygoingblah · 21/01/2021 21:07

I’ve had mine.

Special school staff in my county started getting invites today as they’ve rightly been categorised as care staff.

barbites · 21/01/2021 21:10

Mental health nurse, had it 2 weeks ago.

Berlioz23 · 21/01/2021 21:20

Pharmacist, having mine on Saturday from a pharmacy, links on emails are being sent round to different pharmacies and locum agencies.

hopewardrobe · 21/01/2021 21:21

Community neuro speech and language therapist working with adults. I had my first jab about 3 weeks ago

hopewardrobe · 21/01/2021 21:30

Alittlebitofthis · 21/01/2021 21:30

I'm a bank hcsw so work all over the hospital and I had the Pfizer one last month.

Somethingmavelous · 21/01/2021 21:42

@herecomestreble

I could have had my first at the beginning of January, but found out I'd received both as part of the vaccine study in the summer.
You might need another one by now?
Lotsachocolateplease · 21/01/2021 21:46

I’ve had mine this week - the pfeizer one.
I’m part admin part patient facing - would be outing to tell my actual role.

DianaT1969 · 21/01/2021 21:48

Is it your Trust organising this?

RuggeryBuggery · 21/01/2021 21:52

Social worker
Had mine a week ago
I also felt sort of bad that there were more front line type of people but I had the Pfizer one and we had very short notice of some slots at the hospital - j think they had slots left and didn’t want to waste them
So I went with it because it’s not like I can give it to someone else.
And every extra person that’s vaccinated helps.
And although I don’t feel that front line, if my whole team went down it would be a disaster.

What I didn’t do, unlike some of my colleagues is post brag about it all over Facebook!

Watermelon999 · 21/01/2021 21:56

Had mine 2 weeks ago- frontline nhs. Next dose booked 12 weeks.

Does anyone get their next dose at 3 weeks? I have to admit I’d be happier to have it as advised by the manufacturer at 3 weeks.

A gp friend - same area as me- apparently has been offered the next dose at 3 weeks despite doing mainly telephone consultations. All our hospital colleagues getting it at 12 weeks.

yikesanotherbooboo · 21/01/2021 21:57

If you work in the private sector you might not be on a list. Press your employer and ask your GP to code your occupation. If your occupation is in their computer as eg dentist you will be automatically bumped up to the appropriate group for the vaccine so that when invitations are sent out you will be in the correct tranche.

bonzo77 · 21/01/2021 21:58

Dentist. Officially invite came on Saturday. Had jab today (first appointment that suited me). Oxford vaccine. Feeling ropey but period came today, I had a migraine too so who knows why I feel so rubbish!

OhWhyNot · 21/01/2021 21:59

Feel relief as constantly surrounded by covid cases at work has been draining
