Anyone booked at holiday?

Just being nosey, has anyone booked a holiday? If so, where and when?

Looking at our work calendars, the most we can do together is six days in May or there's a couple of options for 3/4 days in AugustShock. Despite this would love to go away and live in hope. Not booking anything yet, but I think book somewhere in England (in case of restrictions and borders closed), probably also somewhere that's been in the same tier as us most of the time.

We have a postponed holiday booked in the Cairngorms in November. Were meant to be going last November, but couldn't so the venue asked us to move it to this year, rather than cancel.

lovemirage · 19/01/2021 15:40

I really want to go to Finland in August. We haven't booked flights yet. We don't need to book accommodation so it's only flights.

DinosaurDiana · 19/01/2021 15:41

No, not this year.

0htooooodles · 19/01/2021 15:42

USA for end of October, not holding out much hope though Sad

DrRamsesEmerson · 19/01/2021 15:42

Cornwall in May, and Tenerife at Christmas. Waiting to see what might be possible over the summer.

KEG05 · 19/01/2021 15:42

We are booked to go to Turkey in September. If we can’t go we will just move the booking. Live in hope for more normality and I bit of sunshine ☀️

TheHobbitMum · 19/01/2021 15:43

Not booking anything in advance, we'll book longhaul for us all in the autumn if everything is going well. If we have to wait until next year we won't be too bothered.

ScouseQueen · 19/01/2021 15:43

Have booked UK holiday we've done for a few years, in August. Hoping that by then it'll be safe enough.

SummerHouse · 19/01/2021 15:45

Two weeks booked for UK. July - Norfolk. August - Whitby. Nothing I would prefer to be honest and have no fear the pandemic will stop us. We never break rules but just feels like a safe bet there will be no rules to stop us.

APurpleSquirrel · 19/01/2021 15:45

We have a postponed holiday in Cornwall in May half-term. I live in hope!

MeadowHay · 19/01/2021 15:46

We are probably going to book a Centreparcs for June. And just cross our fingers very tightly that most of the stuff there is open and that the weather is nice enough. We are going to book fancier accomodation than we would normally in case things are closed/weather isn't good given we could be spending more time indoors in that situation than we normally would on a holiday. There are actually not many of these left for the dates we were looking at so I guess lots of people are thinking the same. Would love love love to go abroad but can't be bothered with the hassle if we are unable or put in a situation where we can go but quarantine rules apply or things at the destination are closed etc.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 19/01/2021 15:47

I've been trying to change our holiday in April, already moved from last April to October 2020, to September. With BA. Angry

Having to have a voucher. Email says 'if your application is successful.' Aaargh. Just got our dates all lined up and time booked off, and now have to wait for the voucher. Last time they said no problem and just moved it. But this time got 'Computer says no'!

sundowners · 19/01/2021 15:47

Yup! Spain in Mallorca, August

Ginfordinner · 19/01/2021 15:47

No, no point.

Allispretty · 19/01/2021 15:49

Yup turkey booked for June just before Xmas. I was planning on taking ds out a week (never done this before) but now don't want to holiday to go ahead anyway given all the time he will have already lost to yet another lockdown!

Hoping it gets cancelled and can't see it going ahead that early if I'm honest

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 19/01/2021 15:50

Nothing yet. Cancelled ours last July due to pandemic. Parents have delayed theirs again. They had booked 1 delayed from last year and 2 more in next two years have had to reschedule all 3. Dad just retired so they are getting off travelling as much as they can. Unfortunately pandemic means they are still waiting to go.

We're thinking of maybe camping. Pils want to go to Longleat so maybe look at that in the next year.

FinallyFluid · 19/01/2021 15:52

When we didn't think that we would still be in this shit show, we booked a holiday, in the mountains in Spain at the end of June.

If we cancel the villa by the end of May, we will get a full refund, if we lose the flights, we lose the flights, we have had the pleasure of thinking we might be going for all of the pandemic.

I would like to go, as my brother is holidaying (Please God) in the same region with an overlap, I saw him for an hour in September when we I did a mercy dash (through the correct channels before anyone asks) to see my mother who we thought was dying, and even then we spent the time talking about adaptations to the house.

So it would be nice to see him and his family.

CMOTDibbler · 19/01/2021 16:02

We have an Easter holiday booked for Lanzarote (booked last April), and I have written it off already - the resort didn't open at all last year after March, and is fully refundable. We haven't booked flights.

We'll go camping when we can in the UK

Waxonwaxoff0 · 19/01/2021 16:06

I have a couple of holidays moved over from last year, one at Easter and one in late July. Not expecting Easter to go ahead but hoping for July.

Dowser · 19/01/2021 16:11

Yes, should’ve gone to Tenerife at beginning of dec but my test got lost so rebooked for beginning of March
Pretty much hours befor Boris locked us down.
Really hoping we get to go this time
I’m really ready for it

nettytree · 19/01/2021 16:13

Have a forest holiday booked for May half term. Already had to postpone it twice, so hopefully 3rd time lucky. And have just booked a villa in florida for Aug 2022.

TeapotCollection · 19/01/2021 16:15

We’re lucky that we don’t need to because we’ve got a static caravan. Not even going to try to guess when we’ll be opening it up, definitely not the usual date in March. Got a week off work booked late July 🤞

alltheadrenalin · 19/01/2021 16:15

Keswick in April 🤣

iamverytired · 19/01/2021 16:18

Just booked Cornwall in July, it can be cancelled but figured there won't be much left to book if we leave it and everyone decides to holiday in the UK this year!

BabyMoonPie · 19/01/2021 16:24

We went to Center Parcs last September and booked again for this June when we got back using our returning customer discount. They have a great cancellation policy so we thought we might as well hope for the best
