Anyone booked at holiday?

Just being nosey, has anyone booked a holiday? If so, where and when?

Looking at our work calendars, the most we can do together is six days in May or there's a couple of options for 3/4 days in AugustShock. Despite this would love to go away and live in hope. Not booking anything yet, but I think book somewhere in England (in case of restrictions and borders closed), probably also somewhere that's been in the same tier as us most of the time.

Dorset in August

emmathedilemma · 19/01/2021 16:28

I've got a postponed one from last year in May but I'm thinking it's looking less and less likely even though it's only in the UK it was several households staying under the same roof.

frozendaisy · 19/01/2021 16:30

On standby to! Passports at the ready but pointless until travel opened again.

LarsErickssong · 19/01/2021 16:30

We have 3.5k sat with TUI and I keep dreamily looking then giving myself a slap as it's for the USA which I think will be one of the last places we can freely travel too! We have until October to use the money (will be refunded after this date if nothing booked) so I'm now thinking about just leaving it until October and then booking for May 22 as that seems semi realistic?
Not going to book anything for this year yet but we will hopefully be able to book a few short notice trips to somewhere like Barcelona or to see family in Switzerland. Also might do somewhere in England. I'm thinking European travel might be ok from June-ish.

LarsErickssong · 19/01/2021 16:31

Actually i forgot to mention 2 postponed UK breaks as well, one in March which I'm 99% certain will be cancelled and one in October which I'm hopeful for.

Tal45 · 19/01/2021 16:38

Spain in August, we managed to go last summer and it was amazing to get away.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 19/01/2021 16:46

4 UK ones booked this year, partly because we are looking to move and want to check out the area

Whatafool123 · 19/01/2021 16:52

Camping in Dorset end July/August and, (holding breath and refusing to listen to reason) hoping our week in Norfolk postponed from last year and then the October half term, may go ahead this Easter. Hope costs nothing....

Beaniecats · 19/01/2021 16:53

Shropshire first week in August

Roselilly36 · 19/01/2021 16:55

No point in booking anything as things stand.

Indecisive12 · 19/01/2021 16:55

We are going to Spain in August. It will happen.

onemouseplace · 19/01/2021 16:57

Norfolk in August - things really will be awful if we don't manage to do that!

NoseinBook3 · 19/01/2021 16:58

Egypt for the last two weeks of July. Can move or cancel it if need be.

Crazycatlady83 · 19/01/2021 16:59

Spain in August! Holidays happened last year, see no reason why they won’t happen again this year!

movingonup20 · 19/01/2021 17:01

We booked for September last year but it's 100% refundable. I've not actually booked the crossings yet admittedly but we have the main hotel and two overnight stops on the way and one on the way back.

Delatron · 19/01/2021 17:04

Well this time last year we didn’t even have our first (confirmed) case of COVID. Things didn’t really shut down until March.

Yet, with no vaccine many people (me included) managed to get away. July was a good time. Cases were low.

We’re only in Jan, we’re vaccinating at a good rate. I am hopeful. You’ll need a good cancellation policy and be prepared to self isolate on return. And pay for tests I guess.

transformandriseup · 19/01/2021 17:05

We postponed a holiday from August last year to this April originally booked August 2019.

Turnedouttoes · 19/01/2021 17:09

We’ve booked Marbella for April which I really am starting to doubt now. But it’s all refundable so not worried about it.

I get my bonus on Monday and seriously considering booking a late August holiday to Italy (also refundable). It’s a good price and I worry they’ll go up later in the year if travel is possible but still in two minds about actually booking

Mirrorxx · 19/01/2021 17:10

I’m expecting to cancel our Easter holiday but trying to remain hopeful about going to Spain in July

Villanelle17 · 19/01/2021 20:02

Yep, Ibiza Town in June for my mum's 60th. Was meant to go last year but got cancelled. Haven't booked flights yet and accommodation is free cancellation up to 48 hours before. Really hoping we get to go as my mum has finished cancer treatment recently and I'm due to have major surgery in September, so would be good to get away. Fingers crossed

frumpety · 19/01/2021 20:34

Yes SW England beginning of September, booked last year, fingers crossed we can go.

dippyegg32 · 19/01/2021 21:15

Yep Italy in July. Only paid tiny deposit fully refundable by BA even if we decide to cancel ourselves.

10storeylovesong · 19/01/2021 22:08

Lapland in December. Made sure we had full cancellation cover
