If you could have back 1 thing from pre-covid restrictions... what would it be?

DH said he would be working this weekend, for the first time in ages, and I was just about to think, 'oh no', when I realised we don't have any plans anyway, so what difference does it make?

Eating out with friends in a really good but annoying restaurant. Could only book for say 9pm and they need the table back at 11. Taxi/tube was late. Possibly raining on the way. Then so crowded and buzzy have to shout and lean close all night. Sharing food. Pushing out to leave through the throngs. Walking home along crowded pavements.
Hellish - can’t wait !!!!

DH has been working full pelt from the front room since March.

Having finished this eveing, he came into the kitchen and I could see he was heading for the TV, I gave him the job of sorting the sprouts and putting a glaze on the lamb cutlets, I did this not because I have nothing to do and all day to do it, and wanted help but to draw him into the real world. We had a laugh, whilst prepping, no mean feat after thirty years. He then went off to watch a different type of screen having had a break of sort s in between, honour satisfied on all sides.

Anyhoo, after dinner was over, I said if you are not busy tomorrow, can we play hookey and go to........ABC.......... for a quick glass of wine in the snug before heading back here for dinner, he said how about XYZ, if we tie one on we can leave the car more easily.

We then toasted each other and said soon mon ami, soon.

So the long answer is spontaneity. Sad We didn't always act on it, but we had it.

Cinema. Surprised how much I miss it.

Climbing. My climbing buddies. Danger. Getting an adrenaline rush.
Being picked up (and I'm a bit skinny but not small at nearly 5''8) and THROWN on the bed in pique of super hot passion by smoking hot DP. He's since near beginning of pandemic been suffering severe long covid (as in only just slightly less than permenantly bedbound). I also miss dancing until my hips ache, epic parties, taking my DC new and exciting places, having full lung capacity. My friends not. Being bereaved and stressed and sad. Life, really.

Oh damn. One thing? How do I choose between climbing and sex??!!! Does shagging between routes count as one thing?

My family. Being able to hug my family. 😭
I feel desperately sad for my almost 5 year old not being able to enjoy school properly (I hate homeschooling - I have no patience at all)
But I'd give anything right now to be able to hug my parents, my grandparents, my in laws & my siblings.
