Supermarket delivery didn’t arrive!

But no message to say why or anything. It was due at 5pm yesterday and still hasn’t arrived. This has never happened before and slightly annoyed as alternative is now to visit a supermarket as local shop is shut on Sundays. Grrr. One of my local shops that I use for a specific thing is shut due to covid but there was an alternative but it is not open Sundays - DH said not to bother and to add it to supermarket shop and now it’s too late. Just aaargh! I’m not CEV but am CV so DH was trying to minimise touchpoints which has now backfired. It’s a good job I can afford another supermarket shop as we don’t know whether they will still attempt to deliver today. Supermarkets have helped in this crisis but I think charting for delivery passes and then not delivering is taking the somewhat.

Have you tried ringing. I have Tesco deliveries and the number to call is on the printed receipt or can you check the on line status of delivery. I would be on the phone trying to find out where your delivery is. Good luck.

Whyareblokesonhere · 17/01/2021 07:58

disaster.

someone needs to invent some sort of communication device so you could contact them and ask.

If only someone could invent something like that they'd probably get very wealthy.

Panicmode1 · 17/01/2021 08:01

And you haven't contacted them to ask where your shopping is?!

bristolone · 17/01/2021 08:02

If you call them they normally reschedule ASAP in my experience.

femfemlicious · 17/01/2021 08:03

You need to call them?

SallyOMalley · 17/01/2021 08:04

Ring them and ask!

Grobagsforever · 17/01/2021 08:05

If you're that concerned about going to one then ask a friend?

ThePricklySheep · 17/01/2021 08:07

Have you checked the order to see if you had properly checked it out?
But yes, call them!

Tanfastic · 17/01/2021 08:09

If its Sainsbury's there's no number to call! I had this happen a few weeks ago but it was two hours late rather than didn't turn up. Delivery drivers are supposed to ring you if this happens but they don't always. I ended up tweeting them and got a response that way.

itispersonal · 17/01/2021 08:12

We had this 2 weeks ago, I tweeted the company as we were waiting until 10.30pm for a 7.30 delivery and wanted to go to bed. Rang the company the next morning, and via the tweet someone arrange the shopping to be delivered the next day. Plus a £10 voucher!

Think ours was weather related, as we a bit of snow 2 weeks ago!

Mousehole10 · 17/01/2021 08:14

Did you call once it got 5pm and it hadn’t arrived? Or checked on your account on the website?

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 17/01/2021 08:15

I don't understand. Why have you still not tried to contact them after 15 hours? I'd have been on the phone by 6pm latest.

Teakind · 17/01/2021 08:16

Surely you’ve called them? Did you get an email confirmation when you checked out?

@Tanfastic Sainsbury’s contact number is on the website

Mumdiva99 · 17/01/2021 08:17

Are you 100% sure you ordered it for yesterday and not today? What does it say on your online account? Delivered? What did they say when you phoned?

frizzyandfrazzled · 17/01/2021 08:18

Double check the date and time you booked. I've been known to think a 8am delivery is coming and rechecked and found it to be 8pm. Sainsburys do have a phone line though. I'd have definitely rung them by now!

FiveShelties · 17/01/2021 08:18

What did they say when you contacted them? You have, of course, contacted them haven't you?

FlyMyPrettiesFly · 17/01/2021 08:26

I have telephony box through which I can speak with others who also have a similar box. You may wish to contact the operator in your local area and enquire whether the supermarket has a telephony device also and if so, ask to be put through to them.

iMatter · 17/01/2021 08:32

Which supermarket was it?

Did you get an email confirming your order?

What does your order status say now?

I've always found supermarket communication re deliveries to be second to none.

Splodgetastic · 17/01/2021 08:46

No one is answering the phone since yesterday and we have just had an email to say that it is being delivered between 5pm and 6pm yesterday!

And thanks for the sarcastic responses

Have you tried tweeting them or FB messenger?

QuantumQuality · 17/01/2021 08:49

They’ll probably bring it today if you ask. V unusual for them not to contact you

QuantumQuality · 17/01/2021 08:50

Which supermarket is it?

Splodgetastic · 17/01/2021 08:57

DH ordered and he doesn’t have either Facebook or Twitter but I have told him already to set up a Twitter account as public shaming is the only thing that seems to work. I shouldn’t have to ask for them to bring it today. We already ordered it and now our card has been charged they should bring it. But we pay for a delivery pass so I’m a bit pissed off. Just venting really. I would order off Amazon but will probably end up with two lots of everything and have to do a chargeback on Visa. I normally batch cook on a Sunday so if it comes but not until the evening that is still pretty annoying.

I had a non delivery on NYE
Finally after multiple phone calls it was delivered midday 2nd Jan, they blamed agency delivery drivers and gave me an £5 voucher code.
Would have preferred the delivery on time 😣
