What’s the chances? Booked haven in Cornwall and really hoping we can go :(

I've got a haven holiday booked mid July and I'm hopeful.

Had two really good holidays booked last year, both were cancelled and both caused me huge headache trying to get my money back, so this year we are staying in the UK, I need something to keep Me going Smile

Teakind · 16/01/2021 19:34

I really hope so! I want to go to Devon at Easter but I'm not sure if that's slightly wishful thinking.

Flowersinthewindowstill · 16/01/2021 19:36

No one can say for sure, but holidays were allowed in the summer last year, so I think you've got a pretty good chance!

FourTeaFallOut · 16/01/2021 19:38

Good, I'd take that bet.

maddy68 · 16/01/2021 19:39

I reckon international travel will be back on by then so I'm hopeful

Jetatyeovilaerodrome · 16/01/2021 19:40

We've booked Cornwall for August - I'm fairly confident we will be able to go. We are also hoping for an abroad holiday as well, but haven't booked anything yet for that obviously.

AnnaSW1 · 16/01/2021 19:40

I've booked for July. I think it will be ok

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 16/01/2021 19:44

We've booked a caravan on the East Coast, 100% guarantee we can have either our £ back or move booking up to 24 hours before arrival, including 25pc deposit.

Daisysflowers · 16/01/2021 19:44

Missed out on all our holidays last year. This week I am putting deposits down on 3 uk holidays. One for April, May and August. I am a bit unsure about the April one but the other 2 I think will definitely go ahead 🤞

Waxonwaxoff0 · 16/01/2021 19:45

I think July will be OK. I have Butlins booked for Easter and I think that will be cancelled. (Moved from last year)

Harryfrog12 · 16/01/2021 19:46

Loads went to cornwall summer 2020. So i think it will happen. Summer will slow down and with the vaccinations going on they will need to get the industry moving again

Harryfrog12 · 16/01/2021 19:46

*summer will slow down transmission

EachDubh · 16/01/2021 20:09

We are hoping to get away in the caravan a few times before summer.

Pollydoll110 · 16/01/2021 20:17

We've got haven booked for June postponed from last summer... Fingers crossed!

AnnaSW1 · 16/01/2021 20:21

We had two uk holidays last year during the times where cases were low so I see no reason why the same won't be possible this year.

frustrationcentral · 16/01/2021 21:10

We've booked ourselves one in August in the hope it'll go ahead, if not we'll have to put it off Smile

SeldomFollowedIt · 16/01/2021 21:15

You should be okay but I can’t believe how much haven have increased their prices 😢.

I know!! Near on 2k for a holiday in Devon Shock. I'm sure in previous years it would have been closer to 1.5k
Physer · 16/01/2021 21:42

I doubt there will be overseas holidays this year but I'm optimistic about UK ones. After struggling last year to even find a weekend in self catering I'm booking now. Self catering as it's safer for social distancing not by choice.
I have decided on short breaks, that way if the weather is awful it wont matter.

Angel2702 · 17/01/2021 11:56

We went in July last year to Cornwall so assuming we should be able to go this year if cases slow down in summer and the vaccination programme would have been going for long enough to make a difference.

We booked ours for Dorset in August this year last summer, glad we booked then as others have said the prices have definitely gone up.

NeverForgetYourDreams · 17/01/2021 11:57

I've got a holiday abroad at Easter moved from last easter. I'm not rushing to buy a swimming costume .....

Mirrorxx · 17/01/2021 12:03

We have uk breaks booked in March, April, and October.
I think the ones in March and April won’t happen but I’m hopeful for after that

Zogstart · 17/01/2021 12:06

I’d put money on you going as things stand right now (vaccine roll out going well, they think vaccine covers new variants)

BogRollBOGOF · 17/01/2021 12:20

Very favourable. It would have been fine in July last year and with an earlier winter peak, vaccinations, a global pattern of rates falling in the spring and mitigating measures in place, I think life will rapidly resemble the better days of summer 2020 in the second half of the spring.

We went to Haven last August and the facilities were open. Having paid the "hideaway" price, it seemed steep to upgrade for the entertainment package to access swimming which was our only real interest, particularly as the weather was ropey for advance booking outdoor swimming. But it was a good week and apart from one washout, we had a relatively normal week away albeit more outdoors than usual.

I think even international holidays will be favourable from June, the sector needs to survive!

Coasterfan · 17/01/2021 12:23

We went to cornwall last august I m confident your holiday will go ahead OP. We have just had February in Blackpool cancelled but I was expecting it, we have wales at Easter that I m prepared for being cancelled but I have lots of hope pinned on devon in august and hopefully a European theme park trip later in the year although I think October half term is probably most likely for that one.
