Made the mistake of watching the ITV News at 10. On comes Peston taking about Covid and lifting restrictions. He finishes by saying it’ll be “months or years” before things are normal. Someone talk me down because I can’t take much more of this.

Which is why I now refuse to watch the news or engage with MSM. They all have their own agenda and viewpoint and will never promote a positive when a negative will do. It's infuriating and demoralising .

Ok look Whitty and Fergusson you know proper scientists with long careers studying and predicting this sort of thing. Both are now saying this will go on for months not years. That is coming from two men that have been pretty doom and gloom with their own predictions.

He is a terrible journalist. Full of doom (was like this in the market crash in 2007) Always mixes his words up, too wordy, too drony and don’t get me started on his hair!

He can draaaaaag out a word and sentence that man, he sets my teeth on edge, I have to turn over or off, not many do that to me.

He is right as far as his prediction goes , months before a semblance of normality and years before we get back to a pre-pandemic level adding in the joy that is Brexit . On a cheery note, we are heading in the right direction

Some of the groups who are most likely to end up in ITU (men aged 50-59, men aged 60/69, women aged 60-69) won't get their first vaccine for several months. And their second for several months after that.

Even longer for men 40-49.

He’s excruciatingly irritating but as pp says does have good sources. I can’t bear to watch him but he has interesting snippets to share on Twitter and is not as doomy and gloomy as all that on there
