Isolating and exercise, would you?

DD22 is a student and tested positive on Thursday. DS, DH and I are all self isolating as per guidelines and have had negative tests I 'm an HCP and very law abiding.
I'm really struggling with low mood and the only thing that helps in these circumstances is a good long run through the woods.
We live very rurally and never see anyone, rarely even a car on the road in the distance and I had the first vaccine on 21st December.
Would you risk it?

The virus is not spreading by people running anywhere to be fair.

Far less when the runner sees no one

Tumbleweed101 · 11/01/2021 23:04

No. We are rural too and had to isolate ten days over xmas and new year. We were all desperate to go for a walk - so were the dogs! - but we stayed at home or in the garden. We had mild cases too so did seem a bit overkill in the end still isolating when everyone felt better.

The risk is low but if you fell and got hurt (for example) then other people have to get involved.

No. Also as a HCP you would surely be disciplined if you flouted this rule and were caught. I feel that we are held to higher standards than others in this regard as well we should be, because we know how the NHS is struggling.

No

redandwhite1 · 11/01/2021 23:13

100% not

Having had COVID please don't put someone's health at risk by going out

You may never get symptoms but you could be highly contagious

Northernsoulgirl45 · 12/01/2021 03:40

No

Willyoujustbequiet · 12/01/2021 06:57

No of course not. Give your head a wobble.

GreatBigBeautifulTommorow · 12/01/2021 07:03

As a HCP you should no better.
You don’t get to pick and choose which rules you follow.

Irresponsible to post that you’re a HCP and looking to break isolation on social media,
If we can’t follow the rules what does that say to the general public Hmm

LouLou198 · 12/01/2021 07:15

No I wouldn't, it's 10 days, stay at home. What if you fell or had an accident whilst out? You would be putting those at risk who came to help you.

whattodo2019 · 12/01/2021 07:28

Definitely NOT!
You can't change the rules
to suit your mood, location and personal feelings ....

Oh God, please no! I’m so worried whenever I read these threads and realise people do this. I am vulnerable and live in an area with high case numbers. We go out once a week at most for a quick walk and inevitably some people will walk too close before we can avoid them. The thought that some of these people are knowingly sick with Covid makes me want to bolt the door and hide until we’ve been vaccinated. Please, vulnerable people are allowed a bit of fresh air once in a blue moon too!
