Why can't people just think of others!

Why can't people just follow the guidance and stay at home?
Seen it too much in the news about busy beaches, towns etc.
The sooner everyone does as they are told the quicker we will be out of this!
Trust me I'd love to take my family on an outing to the beach, could quite easily 'exercise' and go for a walk there but putting my family at risk is the last thing on my mind!
I'm protecting mine - please everyone protect yours too!

I think they’re going after the wrong people, as far as I understand it, the risk of spread is minimal when outside, unless in close proximity.

Going for a walk with your household and driving 10-30 mins to get there seems ok to me. A healthy pursuit with barely any risk of spread.

I honestly believe that most people are catching it in indoor settings, but of course it’s easier to clamp down on people out in the open.

Absolutely agree.

Beaches are pretty safe environments to be honest. Easy to distance too. I'm absolutely following the rules. But increasingly wondering if it's making a jot of difference. Work places etc, are where infections are being transmitted it seems. I honestly don't know what the answer is, except the vaccine, and warmer weather when it comes... But I will of course, absolutely continue to do my bit, and follow the rules

Ponygal · 11/01/2021 10:00

I completely agree. I have stuck to the rules and still am. I would love to be able to do different things but I'm sticking to them.

I don't want to risk possibly passing it onto someone who is vulnerable or someone else who could easily have bad long term effects.

I had a test the other day and luckily was negative but my own partner was still going to go into work despite showing symtoms! He said it wouldn't be the virus I had so he was still going in! He only didn't as I said I would call and say as there is a vulnerable person there who could become very unwell due to it.

Absolute madness and whole attitude has made me rethink relationship.

Ponygal · 11/01/2021 10:01

I know of others who have still gone in while waiting results and showing symptoms also.

I suspect it is an issue everywhere to be honest.

I think lots of people feel forgotten and that nobody thinks of them and so give back to society what is given to them

Absolutely, no one has cared about them for the past so many years, but now they are expected to step up to protect those that usually ignore them.

I think part of it is the fact it's in the government's interests to place the onus of responsibility on the public - so the supposed flouting of rules is overblown by them.

I live in London, when I take my 2 year old to the park for our daily exercise (we don't have a garden) it is packed - do I suspect the other people using the park are rule breakers? No. It's just a bloody horrible situation.

SnuggyBuggy · 11/01/2021 14:54

I saw a park which was maybe not packed but certainly fuller than you'd expect for a drizzly Sunday afternoon at 4pm. Its because there is nowhere else to go. The grass is all churned up and muddy due to the footfall and bad weather, never seen it like that until this year.

Because Dominic Cummings was not sacked. The start of non-compliance.
