I missed the first part!

I know schools have closed until Feb half term.

Nursery open

Can you meet anyone for walks?

Takeaways open?

Borders closed? (Probably not)

Could someone sum it up for me?

Fuck this shit.

The cure is now worse that the illness.

We'll have nothing to go back to.

These venues can continue to be able to operate click-and-collect (where goods are pre-ordered and collected off the premises) and delivery services

Can't remember if it was this thread, talking about click and collect - non essential shops can do click and collect (bold above taken from gov website)

Viviennemary · 04/01/2021 21:05

You can meet one person outside. Children under a certain age dont count. Think it's eleven not sure.

Windinmyhair · 04/01/2021 21:07

Reception counts as being part of school, not early years settings I think... and so will be shut

Going to school, college and university
"Colleges, primary (reception onwards) and secondary schools will remain
open for vulnerable children and the children of critical workers. All other
children will learn remotely until February half term."

@SaveWaterDrinkGin

In summary:

Your child can’t go to school and will miss yet another huge chunk of their education but it a perfectly fine to go and dick around in a garden centre.

I cannot see how anyone can compare a school full of hundreds of children with a garden centre, that's bonkers! Garden centres are not exactly hotbeds for spreading COVID19!

the garden centre near us was absolutely fantastic at sanitising all the trollies, giving hand wipes to everyone, mmaking sure everyone kept 2mtrs social distance, contactless payment where possible. It was a big boost to people's well-being in a well controlled environment

I’m Disabled I can’t exercise but I’d quite like leave the flat occasionally just for a walk (powered wheelchair) this sort of thing makes me anxious that I shouldn’t be out at without being asked to go in because I’m not physically moving. Wheelchair does not mean I should be shielding!

Windinmyhair · 04/01/2021 21:09

@Viviennemary I thought kids not counting was for scotland

You can exercise in a public outdoor place:
by yourself
● with the people you live with
● with your support bubble (if you are legally permitted to form one)
● in a childcare bubble where providing childcare
● or, when on your own, with 1 person from another household

elsaesmeralda · 04/01/2021 21:09

To those asking, when my ds was in Reception last March it was included in school closure so presume it would be the same this time

SuperlativeScrubs · 04/01/2021 21:09

Hold on, what does it mean you can see your support bubble if you are legally permitted to form one

Am I being stupid? I've not seen that before...

Viviennemary · 04/01/2021 21:13

It might be for Scotland. Sorry if it is wrong information. Bit confusing Having two people talking at us. I'm in England but rules for Scotland always being read out.

Katie517 · 04/01/2021 21:15

It’s basically November lockdown with schools shut. You can meet one person from another household for exercise (no idea if children count) but my 5 month old will not be counting in the numbers she’s in her pram asleep while I walk with someone else! All support bubbles allowed including the child under 1 you can travel a reasonable distance to exercise, the once a day is guidance not law and you can travel to visit and stay over night with your support bubble.

FarTooSkinny · 04/01/2021 21:19

Can a cleaner still come to your house?

Oreservoir · 04/01/2021 21:20

My 90 year old df goes to his cousin twice a week, he has no one else nearby.
Can he still go?
He’s at breaking point now.

Unescorted · 04/01/2021 21:20

The new guidance is published here for England from the gov.uk website

@Sweetpea1989

I’m confused can I still meet a friend tomorrow in the park If both babies are 6 month old??
I think so, as long as you both keep moving (exercise together!)
twinklespells · 04/01/2021 21:22

Please please please let dentists stay open. I chipped a tooth at the weekend and it hurts so badly. I've got a six month old baby so sleep is non existent as it is and I have been counting down to the appt with the dentist Sad

Support bubbles are for single-adult households.

If you are a single parent, you can bubble with your parents if they live together. If you are in a couple and one of your parents lives alone, you can bubble with them.

But if you have a partner, you can’t bubble with your parents who live together. Unless it’s so they can provide childcare.

bluebeck · 04/01/2021 21:22

Oh maybe not then if you have to be alone Sad

Give it another hour and the twats on here will have made up their own special MN "roolz" again.

Where people cannot work from home - including, but not limited to, people who work in critical national infrastructure, construction, or manufacturing - they should continue to travel to their workplace. This is essential to keeping the country operating and supporting sectors and employers.

Public sector employees working in essential services, including childcare or education, should continue to go into work.

Where it is necessary for you to work in other people's homes - for
example, for nannies, cleaners or tradespeople - you can do so.
Otherwise, you should avoid meeting for work in a private home or
garden, where COVID-19 Secure measures may not be in place.

What if I am in a couple, but separated from the kids Dad who lives separately with his OH, but the kids have been going between us and in our support bubble?

I'm so confused.

My brother speculated before Boris even came on that exercise would be limited to 1 hour per day again Hmm He didn't believe me that it never was.

Children can still go between homes.
