So here's mine:
I look after my niece one day a week and last week it happened to fall on the day our grocery delivery was due, it arrived without my dogs food and we'd run out that morning, so loaded my DD and niece (6 month old and 1 year old) to the supermarket, literally went in, both girls in pushchair so she wasn't running wild, grabbed the dog food and headed to the till, she'd been very good so I grabbed her a individual packet of chocolate buttons as a treat from next to the till, only for the lady behind me to tut and say 'that's not exactly essential shopping is it! Idiots like you are the reason we're in this mess! You should be ashamed of yourself! Then again what do we expect from girls like you that have nothing better to do than keep popping out kids for the benefits!' 😂 I love people's assumptions!

  1. Only 1 is actually mine,
  2. Both girls we're planned and very much wanted,
And 3. I'm 26 and married 😂 I loved the look on her face when I turned round and informed her 'and I'm pregnant again!' 😂

@lljkk

Do you gals seriously think there aren't difficult variants emerging in other countries, with huge populations and uncontrolled spread, like Brazil or USA. Come on. Don't be daft.
I don't think that's what people are saying?

Gavin Williamson, followed closely by Boris Johnson.

My mother in law knowingly collecting food from her elderly neighbour who has Covid because he didn’t feel well enough to eat! We are fuming with her. She’s in tier 4 and has an elderly husband so needs to be careful anyway without adding to their risk by going to a neighbour who has CV!

Surely driving 30 minutes for an eye test has to take the crown?

Or the expectation on single parents to ditch a child to be able to go in a shop. Most mortifying experience of my life.

I thought you meant to go to specsavers there for a second. Couldn't see why that was wrong.

It's been a long few months. I forgot about him.

The police force who used drones to film a man walking his dog on his own, miles from anyone, in the Peak District and then posted it on twitter. I can only assume there's no serious crime in Derbyshire...

DD's college carried out an assessment of how many people could use each room and still maintain 2m distancing.

They had several individual practice rooms meant for use by one person that were less than 2m square so their standard calculation told them that the permissible number of people for that room was 0 so they locked them all up!

It apparently never occurred to anyone that if a person is alone in a room there is no need for social distancing!

Chelsea567 · 02/01/2021 23:58

At work in supermarket. Elderly couple at my checkout. She actually leans forward around my screen, presumably to avoid coughing near her husband, and coughs right in my face. Angrycheers for that.

A post about a teenage boy needing new shoes and a poster saying he didn’t need shoes in ‘this intense heat’ the flip flops which are all he had would be fine. The OP hadn’t said where she lived and in my area in Scotland it was 14c and raining. Hardly intense heat!

Husband bumps into an old friend in Tescos. She has her two youngest children in trolley. He says hello to the little ones and asks how her two teenagers are doing.

She replied they aren't in school at the moment as have covid. Poor things are tucked up in bed at home. She has just popped out for supplies.

He stepped even further back and quickly says his goodbyes.

We have no idea how this virus keeps spreading do we!

Set of 3 public toilets, people going in and out of each one in rapid succession so clearly sharing air and surfaces. But they've taped up the middle one to ensure 'social distancing' Confused

DD was sent a hospital appointment letter. It told her that, due to Covid, she must attend her appointment by herself.

DD is 6 weeks old.

So did she manage to get to the hospital ok on her own? Wink

Wasnt there a post on here early on with someone panicking because someone had stroked her cat on the garden wall? Various suggestions of bleaching the cat...

Boris Johnson, Gavin Williamson, Michael Gove and Dominic Cummings

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 04/01/2021 11:52

My DM had a similar hospital problem. Expected to attend an appointment on her own, and fill in paperwork when she got there.
It was the eye clinic, for people with severe eyesight problems. Funnily enough, she struggles to fill in forms at the moment, since she can't read them...

We should have got her a carry cot like Baby Yoda's, then we could have just programmed it to take her in! Not having that technology, I'm afraid I went with her.

(It did however occur to me that if they've been putting this on everyone's letters, it's a bit worrying wrt young teenagers who really might think they're meant to go by themselves.)

MuseumGardens · 04/01/2021 11:59

True

DdraigGoch · 05/01/2021 22:03

Plenty of Mumsnetters are still frothing about outdoor exercise. Apparently anyone who goes out for more than one walk per day is "part of the problem". Er, no. People meeting indoors without social distancing are the problem. Not someone going out for a quiet walk in the fresh air.

Healthcare workers who wear full PPE etc at work car sharing on the commute without infecting 3/5 and all having to isolate.
Healthcare workers who ignore the current restrictions and mix households indoors so they end up having to isolate.

These being the same workers who want to wear FFP3 around every patient regardless of COVID and agp status but don't think they could be at more risk from all their mixing multiple households.

TashieWoo · 05/01/2021 22:14

Random sharer (someone who pays to ride an owner’s horse) at the yard where I keep my horse wearing a mask while outside doing yard chores. Fair enough, but then she takes her two very young children (under 5) into a herd of 15 horses to catch the one she’s sharing. I think the danger of them getting trampled was far higher than of her getting COVID!
