Click and collect food shop will we get everything we ordered?

First world problems I know! Just wondered if anyone has collected a click and collect food shop yet this week and got everything they ordered? With all the madness in the shops my OH has suddenly had a ‘first world’ panic we might not get everything due to people supposedly stripping the shelves. Anyone else done a click and collect for this week and received all their shopping as planned? Tia

Waitrose order, subs were
Waitrose free range chicken got duchy organic chicken
2 St agor cheeses got 2 similar cheeses
Baby potatoes got miniature potatoes
Roast potatoes got a bigger pack

No williams pears didn't ask for substitutes

So all ok

username6895 · 22/12/2020 13:20

Asda no substitutes at all. Not sure if I'm just lucky.

CarlottaValdez · 22/12/2020 13:34

I just popped into Waitrose - no queue and I got all the things they didn’t manage to include in my delivery.

wasgoingmadinthecountry · 22/12/2020 14:28

4 subs last night from Tesco - all perfectly reasonable alternatives.

cantkeepawayforever · 22/12/2020 14:58

Everything except part baked rolls - substituted with ones from the bakery.

Tesco, not Tier 4.

AlwaysLatte · 22/12/2020 15:09

Well my Tesco delivery just arrived. Bearing in mind I only filled the trolley last night, I was amazed that everything was there (including lots of fresh/salad) except one thing: condensed milk for the millionaire shortbread my son wants to make, and I think I can get that in my local coop. Very pleased!

AlwaysLatte · 22/12/2020 15:10

(And we're Tier 4)

EasterIssland · 22/12/2020 15:13

I think the only thing festive I’m not getting today is the jam and cheese croquettes. Exactly the one I liked the most Xmas Confused

AlwaysLatte · 22/12/2020 15:13

Just in case it helps any of you, my little Coop/convenience store had an entire fridge devoted to party food and pigs in blankets etc. I think the manager/staff have a big say on what to stock AND know their locals.
Our local one is well stocked too. And they are great with their regulars - if my brother needs something arriving late after work they put it aside for him. I wish there were bigger Co-op shops near us. Our local one is also a petrol station and I often hold people up wanting a packet of crisps and a tank of petrol when I'm buying a few days' meals. 😳

We have an ASDA Click & Collect booked for 23rd. When I went to amend the order today all the Christmas items I wanted are "unavailable" so no sprouts or red cabbage for our Christmas dinner this year (DP doesn't want me going into a supermarket due to his vulnerable mother coming to dinner on Christmas Day). I am very disappointed with Asda but hopefully next year I can go back to doing the shop myself.

Same, first time since March that this particular supermarket has delivered my order without a single substitution or missing item Shock As pp said, not much festive food in it, but still... this is unheard of in a normal week.
notagoodyear · 22/12/2020 15:43

Sorry not Asda, but Morrisons.

bathsh3ba · 22/12/2020 15:49

Waitrose order in West Country, 4 substitutions but nothing major and nothing missing.

susan123 · 22/12/2020 15:59

We had a large (there are lots of us) order from Ocado today. It turned up 3 hours early, but had almost everything. Only 1 missing item (peppermint essence for my daughter to make candy canes) and 1 sub - bake at home Yorkshire's instead of already baked ones. I was very impressed as we are tier 4 and trying to avoid shops.

crossstitchingnana · 22/12/2020 16:04

Just had my Tesco delivery. All there, all my veg and turkey. Only subbed a box of beer.

roseymom · 22/12/2020 16:16

I had a delivery this weekend and only few things substituted, but they only substitute items if you have said yes to that option. It works the same for click and collect.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 22/12/2020 17:10

Asda order coming later, pretty good really - 8 subs.
Only slightly ? one is spring onions instead of celery.

I'm not getting anything for the Christmas dinner though - turkey is getting picked up from local butcher tomorrow and I bought potatoes / parsnips etc. from veg shop today.

TeaAndTrifle · 22/12/2020 17:31

I had a big (£200ish) Sainsbury's delivery today and only a couple of subs. Fresh strawberries instead of raspberries and Ocean Spray Cranberry sauce instead of own brand. Everything else was there and it included a lot of festive food and alcohol.

Mumof3andlovingit · 22/12/2020 17:35

Asda no subs at all on big shop (£200ish) had mixture of fruit&veg, frozen goods, bakery stuff, baby food and milk and general groceries so was well pleased.

Username7521 · 22/12/2020 17:37

Pitched up over £300 worth of shopping and had three substitutes and one broken bag of fries!

llwynogbach · 22/12/2020 18:00

My Morrison's click and collect was a disaster! £20 of food missing which I was charged for, and many many substitutions. Customer services were really lovely about it though and I absolutely understand the staff must be stressed and working flat out.

Floralnomad · 22/12/2020 18:04

My Tesco delivery is due tomorrow , I always tick no substitutions, I’m not holding my breath about what turns up but we have an M and S order on Christmas Eve and aside from the turkey ( in the M&S order ) have all we need for actual Christmas dinner already .

SlippersForFlippers · 22/12/2020 18:13

I had 1 thing missing from my order completely, wasn't any thing important. 1 sub which I refused and 1 item with a short date also refused. Had a quick trip to the local store and got the missing items.

SlippersForFlippers · 22/12/2020 18:14

There were other subs but they were sensible so I'm glad I pressed the subs button.

LastTrainEast · 22/12/2020 18:18

Yesterday's Tesco order had one sub and that was identical other than the brand. I can't speak for other supermarkets, but Tesco seem to be coping just fine.

Do allow subs even if you don't normally just in case.
