They opened up christmas slots 2 months ago, the supermarketsvshoukd have some idea of what their customers want.
bruffin You don’t understand how click and collect/home delivery orders work. They are picked on the morning of the delivery; they aren’t looked at before then.
The reason being is that because customers can change them so late into the night before it’s just not possible for supermarkets to order in exactly what people put in their baskets as they chop and change all the time.
They would be left with an extraordinary amount of waste.
I picked up an Asda click and collect yesterday. No turkey. Went in the shop, shelves full of them! So why didn’t I get one?!
mnahmnah There could be two reasons for this. One is that home delivery/click & collect orders start getting picked at around 4am, so if the delivery with said item either hasn’t arrived or hasn’t been put on the shelf at that point, you won’t get it.
Second is that some Asda stores are picked and packed in warehouses (not all), and so if the warehouse doesn’t have one you won’t get one as the order is just transferred to store as it is.
I know someone who is an order picker for ASDA. The click and collect is picked in a giant warehouse and not in the shop.
Valkadin This is only true for a handful of Asda orders; most are picked in store.
