I was thinking of all the words which have become part of everyday language this year, which I for one would like never to hear again!

I will start:

Wuhan

firstimemamma · 21/12/2020 10:32

All of the above and 'self-isolate'. Before the pandemic it was just 'isolate' that I'd heard. Also 'bubble' as a verb.

ArosAdraDrosDolig · 21/12/2020 10:33

Self isolation

PPE

BellaVida · 21/12/2020 10:33

Masks need to be worn over your mouth and nose.

Carrotcakeforbreakfast · 21/12/2020 10:46

Self isolate
Social distancing.

For me at work.
" is the patient hot or cold"

Carrotcakeforbreakfast · 21/12/2020 10:48

Actually work is where it is most bizarre for me.

We have: hot resus, hot majors, hot minors and agp resus.
Along with the cold of all the above.
I feel like I'm in a twilight zone.

3littlewords · 21/12/2020 10:50

Not a new word but certainly the most over used word especially on MN in 2020 has been "selfish " sick of hearing it

whatshalliget · 21/12/2020 10:51

What does it all mean @Carrotcakeforbreakfast?

Redcrayons · 21/12/2020 10:51

RedskyAtnight · 21/12/2020 10:53

I'd put in a vote for "unprecedented" as the most overused word of the year. As in "unprecedented times".

Redcrayons · 21/12/2020 10:55

Oh and in also wouldn’t have been able to pick Matt Hancock out of a line up before.
