Sensible hairstyles? What is a sensible hairstyles, wearing boiler suits, digging for sovereignty 😂😂😂

CabinClose · 20/12/2020 23:07

@TheCountessofFitzdotterel Cress. I imagine she’s planning cress for Christmas dinner. Yum. Bloody Brexit bots pretending reality doesn’t exist.

chomalungma · 20/12/2020 23:08

Dominic Raab: "I hadn't quite understood the full extent of this but... we're particularly reliant on the Dover-Calais crossing"

I think he knows now.

snowballer · 20/12/2020 23:08

My god, if that bloody man in number 10 doesn't ask for an extension to the transition period now we'll absolutely know he is acting only in the interests of a very limited number of people, and not in those of the country

xmasfairybuns · 20/12/2020 23:09
@xmasfairybuns Thank you for making me laugh in a very bleak moment.
You are most welcome, I'm trying hard to laugh myself.

RedToothBrush · 20/12/2020 23:09

DON'T PANIC MR MAINWARING

chomalungma · 20/12/2020 23:09

Who's going to be the poor Government sod up for interview tomorrow?

crackofdoom · 20/12/2020 23:09

On a related note, what happens to the poor lorry drivers stuck in Kent? In tier 4.
I'm just imagining them all parked up and hungry and not able to go home

Bored, frustrated and pissed off I should think, although they've probably managed to forage some food from somewhere by now. I don't think being in Tier 4 would stop them from leaving Kent, as they must count as being on an essential journey, but most of them are trying to get to France, so that doesn't bode well for them.

Loads of them are small independents, with their own lorries Sad

PicsInRed · 20/12/2020 23:09

I've lost the plot so badly I can't even tell anymore what's serious and what isn't.Sensible hairstyles?!

Bowl cuts.

If we stockpile enough razors, we can jazz up a manly version with a monk dome.

lakesidexmas · 20/12/2020 23:10

Cress at the bottom of the kids xmas stocking I mean.

Little hands grasping wet slimy cress 😂 instead a satsuma.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 20/12/2020 23:10

Cress takes at least a week at this time of year. It won’t be ready till Boxing Day.

MrsPernicious · 20/12/2020 23:10

The jerusalem artichokes are good this year.

Yep, the budget of this zombie apocalypse movie feels very low.

PandemicPavolova · 20/12/2020 23:10

Can any post pics of sensible hairstyles

lakesidexmas · 20/12/2020 23:11

Now you've crushed my dreams Countess.

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 20/12/2020 23:11

We will just have to model our society on the post-war years and look to the 50s for inspiration. Rationing, buying British, good quality clothes made to last, back yard allotments, sensible and functional clothes and hairstyles

Bags of parsnips are 19p in Tesco.
I bought 15 and am making jam.

CatVsChristmasTree · 20/12/2020 23:11

@Florelei

Does anyone else feel like they are starring in a low budget zombie apocalypse movie? It’s all very surreal.
It's not just you. I've been very calm and laid back all year but I'm starting get more than a little worried... I prepped for Brexit. Then again for the pandemic (back in February). Built supplies back up again for Brexit. Still not feeling secure.
PandemicPavolova · 20/12/2020 23:12

Apparently Carrie is already giving Boris the bowl cut.. Was that a nudge..

Fuckingcrustybread · 20/12/2020 23:12

@TheCountessofFitzdotterel

Fuckingcrustybread- if you know of any good vegetable varieties that can go from sowing to harvest in a couple of days in midwinter please tell me because I hate having to wait for six months!
Didn't you realise the the U.K. was leaving the EU? I expect many farmers did realise that this would happen. Farmers may have realised that Brexit would happen, they may have planned ahead. There will be fresh vegetables, possibly not the exotic veg that you are used to. The vegetables that are flown in from countries way South of the EU. That's my polite answer.
DrizzleandDamp · 20/12/2020 23:12

It’s willy waving as part of the negotiations s. Having said that I have a creeping feeling that my week off next week isn’t happening as I work in major food chains.

The answer is we have farmers here but not enough processing, vegans might have some tough choices to make and it’s going to seriously fuck everything up.

There will be food but there won’t be choice and it would be difficult in the short term. Having said that the EU need some of our exports too unless they fly thing in so some of their prices are going to hit the roof. The chain can only swallow so much cost for us all.

If Ireland closes we are all fucked.

JamieLeeCurtains · 20/12/2020 23:12

The UK finally became special again. And how.

VodselForDinner · 20/12/2020 23:13

@snowballer

My god, if that bloody man in number 10 doesn't ask for an extension to the transition period now we'll absolutely know he is acting only in the interests of a very limited number of people, and not in those of the country
As a non-Brit in an EU country, I really hope that doesn’t happen.

Every EU country is at crisis due to Covid. Having to tie-up even more of our resources on Brexit would be insane.

Seeing so many on Twitter tonight saying that Brexit should be delayed due to Covid, but I genuinely think the fight against Covid will be delayed if Brexit is still taking up so much time and effort from other countries.

The UK needs to handle its own mess.

lakesidexmas · 20/12/2020 23:13

I also think people have forgotten how expensive food was pre war.
As well a limited in choice.

snowballer · 20/12/2020 23:13

The Queen?
If freight isn't allowed in from France
ListeningQuietly · 20/12/2020 23:14

Raining
There are a few hundred unaccompanied trailers a day
there are 10,000 accompanied trailers a day

and as the container ports are finding
boxes have to be moved
and that involves people in the right place

crackofdoom · 20/12/2020 23:14

BatsandFrogs I'd hang on to them, you'll prolly be able to shift them for a tenner a pop come Christmas Eve Grin

I was considering wrapping up some sprouts for the kids' Christmas stockings as a laugh, but I guess they're going to be a precious commodity now.
