Posted on an earlier thread but didn't really get an answer.
This screen shot is from a member of staff in the team that I manage.
The 11 days bit seems a bit shady, they've just informed me they'll be off now until the new year.

Obviously can't accuse anyone of it being fake so guess I'll have to suck it up.
But just curious.

I'm no expert but I thought they'd shortened it to 10 days now? So the countdown would presumably start from that number?

soworried321 · 20/12/2020 20:43

@WorraLiberty my thoughts exactly.

Isolation is 10 days max now?

Covidrelapse · 20/12/2020 20:44

Time traveller. They will come into contact with someone tomorrow who will then go on to test positive.
It has been shortened to 10 days so maybe an old screenshot they’ve got off someone?

Covidrelapse · 20/12/2020 20:45

Ask them to produce an isolation note from 111.

OverTheRainbow88 · 20/12/2020 20:46

Yes the max should be 10 days....!

soworried321 · 20/12/2020 20:46

The thing is though is that they showed me the message on 18th December and isolation period ends on 29th December (which is 11 days)
So the dates add up, but the 11 days doesn't. Which makes me think it's been photo shopped by someone who doesn't realised it's changed from 14 to 10 days.

They said it will take a little while for the app to show the 10 days, I guess they need to update it and get everyone to download the update but I think it said take 3 days off the time it says

Definitely worth checking.

Char2015 · 20/12/2020 20:47

I know they reported that the app would need to be updated to display this change in rules but that would be from 17th Dec that they would update. Whether there was some delay with the app updating I don't know.

soworried321 · 20/12/2020 20:47

Oh perhaps it's the app then.
Glad I didn't accuse them now!!!

Barbie222 · 20/12/2020 20:48

Tell them they can take 3 days off the isolation period as it's now ten days and their app has not updated? That will take them to Boxing Day.

Mammaaof · 20/12/2020 20:48

Yes they did say the app would take a little while to update to the 10 days

Natsel84 · 20/12/2020 20:48

Im on day 9 of 10 of isolation. I finish isolation midnight Monday going into Tuesday.

Track and trace contacted me and sent a letter via email to give to my work or anyone that needs proof . My SD has covid so have been in direct contact with someone whos had covid. Is this the case for this person?

DougRossIsTheBoss · 20/12/2020 20:49

I think it might be genuine. I'm not sure they have updated the ap.

The app correctly gave me 10 days from my positive test but it then have DH 14 days as my contact even though the track and trace text had the correct date.

frosted232 · 20/12/2020 20:49

I don't think the app has been updated properly because a friend questioned this a few days ago when it told her more than the 10 days. Her workplace went on the 10 days as advised.

OverTheRainbow88 · 20/12/2020 20:50

Ooh phew good job you checked on here!!

ceeveebee · 20/12/2020 20:50

Although they have shortened to 10 days, I don’t think the app was updated straight away. It was supposed to have been updated on 17 December ans it tells you in the guidance they you need to knock 3 days off if it is still using 14 days.

“If you got this alert on 16 December or earlier

You can leave self-isolation when your timer says ‘3 days to go’, unless you've been told to self-isolate for longer by contact tracing. This is when your self-isolation period of 10 full days will be complete.

If you got this alert on 17 December

You will need to check your ‘encounter date’ in the ‘manage my data’ section of the app. Read more about how to find your encounter date. You need to self-isolate for 10 full days from this date.”

OverTheRainbow88 · 20/12/2020 20:50

Quite a clever/sneaky way to get off work for Christmas though if faked

Char2015 · 20/12/2020 20:50

If they showed you on the 18th, maybe they got notification day before on the 17th whilst app was in process of updating. So 11 days would still be displayed on the app. However, I understand that as the change came in earlier that week, people that get notifications from the app would only have to isolate for 10 days max.

Natsel84 · 20/12/2020 20:51

You isolate for 10 days then your allowed to go back to normal on the 11th day if that makes sense .

PinkPlantCase · 20/12/2020 20:52

The letters for the No. days don’t looked photoshopped. There’s a similar amount of ‘noise’ around both sets of letters. I’d expect there to be more of a difference in image quality around the days if they were imported in.

Cornettoninja · 20/12/2020 20:54

There’s an isolation note you can access from the app I believe which will include their details (name, dob) and a reference number to give to employers.

It’s DP who got one and he’s sleeping so I can’t check how he got it but he’s definitely got one.

Cornettoninja · 20/12/2020 20:59

111.nhs.uk/isolation-note - this might be helpful OP.
