Quick poll: who intends to continue with Xmas plans in tier 4?

To help with my discussions with family who were due to come entirely within the rules as they were pre 4pm!

Genuinely in a total quandary as to what to say- all low risk people but it’s our decision as our house. If I thought that a big chunk of the affected population would “rebel” or that everyone else was towing the line that might help, so thanks in advance.

@Changi

T4 here neighbour has just put up marquee????

Common sense would suggest that anywhere with a roof and walls should count as indoors, whatever the roof and walls are made of.

You can’t mix in private gardens in tier 4 so whether a marquee is technically an “indoors“ or not is irrelevant.

Pubs have got into trouble over indoors/outdoors with the legislation. It has to have 2 sides open - like the smoking regulations or its indoors.

But in T4 you dont need a marquee unless your thinking of camping in the garden because your house has been destroyed in someway, you have no need for one unless you intend to break the rules.

T2 here - close to T4 and with a huge spike in numbers in the next town - cancelled plans to have DC over, even though we are all in T2. Will have a walk on Xmas day,but nothing indoors.

perhaps the marquee is so someone in the family can self isolate.

I'm a MYOB type - but would be on the phone to the police about that one.

Well, I wish anyone the best of luck if they are planning to be sitting outside in a marquee on Christmas Day. I hope to goodness they have checked that granny has had her pneumonia jab before she is turfed outside to sit under a blanket.

I don’t fancy that at all and I’m in my 40s.
