Hubby just had his test. It says up to 72 hours for results but I'd like to know how long you actually waited.

We are in wales

8/9 hours

ramblingsonthego · 18/12/2020 12:04

Had the test Wednesday at 7pm. Haven't had a result yet. Drive in test.

Last week it was 38 hours. Drive in test

November it took 3 days. Postal test.

Ps. Not all the same person but our family.

FestiveChristmasLights · 18/12/2020 12:07

I think more people are testing at the moment so the results are taking longer to come back. We’ve had results on the same day before but seem to be around the 48hr+ mark at the moment. Lots of people wanting tests to see if they are safe to travel or see people next week will just increase the wait.

HairyFloppins · 18/12/2020 12:12

DH's first test results only came back today 10 days after his first test. He went again a few days later and they came back within 24 hours.

Mine and dd's postal tests were about 48 hours.

mommybunny · 18/12/2020 12:16

My DD had a drive in test in October and I had one 2 weeks ago. Both in Surrey but different test centres. Both results texted back overnight.

openupmyeagereyes · 18/12/2020 13:50

Mine was 12 hours

LastChristmas19 · 18/12/2020 13:52

Back in September we waited 3/4 days for DS’s result. Earlier this week they come back less than 24 hours. Both negative.

BigcatLittlecat · 18/12/2020 13:53

South Wales 16 hours to come back.

Smallabl · 18/12/2020 14:38

I posted a home test at 8.30 am on Wednesday and am still waiting. Starting to regret doing a test at all as I have no symptoms and it was a request from the Zoe app. Feel absolutely fine but daren’t do anything/go anywhere just in case it’s an asymptomatic positive.

dameofdilemma · 18/12/2020 15:17

Because of Royal Mail it’s likely to be in the region of 12 days from ordering the test to getting the result.

The lab is likely to do it in 48 hours. RM are taking 5 days to do special delivery of Covid tests and samples in our area. The post boxes are overflowing. Test kits are lying on the floor of the sorting office unscanned for days.

It’s diabolical.

Notashandyta · 18/12/2020 20:05

Mostly pretty quickly then.

Test taken at 12 today, hoping we will hear back tomorrow

16 hours for DS2

ConfusedcomMum · 18/12/2020 20:08

Drive through test centre: 6 days (positive)
Postal home test: 26 hours (positive)

This was last week in the Greater London area.

nomorename · 18/12/2020 20:28

Almost 4 days now

YakkityYakYakYak · 18/12/2020 20:42

Had drive in test on the Sunday at 10am and results came back 2am on the Wednesday morning. So just under the advised 72 hours.
This was last month.

tootyfruitypickle · 18/12/2020 20:52

Really interested is everyone testing with the main symptoms ? Or are people giving up and testing when generally ill?
I have a cold. Banging headache is basically the main thing. Plus dramatic sneezing. Parents insisting on seeing me next week. I won’t go if still ill obviously !! Assuming I won’t test of course but just wondered what people were doing ? Are people who test positive all having the key symptoms.?

Bramblespoint · 18/12/2020 20:57

Currently most are taking at least 48hrs

ConfusedcomMum · 18/12/2020 20:59

DH started off with a headache and sneezing. I started off with a severe headache and lower back pain. We only lost our sense of smell and taste around 4 days later. My pulse was racing, in fact I'd go as far to say it mimicked early pregnancy symptoms for me and a bad cold for DH. Definately get tested.

tootyfruitypickle · 18/12/2020 21:05

DD had this last weekend and recovered quickly, she was super snotty. I’ve not been out at all since then so it must be the same thing. Think I’ll see how it goes next 2 days and if I feel worse get tested. Don’t feel ill or tired just headachey but it’s not that intense like the covid ones seem to be so I’m pretty sure it’s just a cold. Was just wondering what the consensus is now .

thefemaleJoshLyman · 18/12/2020 21:08

16 hours. DS had test at 8.30 yesterday, negative result back before midnight. So relieved, doing the test was horrible, I was worried it would be inconclusive.

tootyfruitypickle · 18/12/2020 21:10

Only thing that really makes me wonder is that I would normally get ill a day or so after DD but it’s been 5 days which is really odd. Hope you’re ok now @ConfusedcomMum?

FrancisCross · 18/12/2020 21:11

Tested 6:30pm yesterday and got result at 3pm today.

allthesharks · 18/12/2020 21:14

My partner had a test on Tuesday at 2pm. His test came back Thursday evening. Took about 53 hours.

Me and DD had our test on Wednesday at 11am. We're still waiting for our results.

This is in the South East.

midnightstar66 · 18/12/2020 21:15

Dd and I had ours on 1st December, hers were back by 6am on the 2nd ... I'm still waiting for mine!

Oldtimer2020 · 18/12/2020 21:19

DS tested 9.30am Tuesday and still waiting. Am thinking they might have lost it. Might get another test tomorrow if don’t hear overnight. DS ironically doesn’t have symptoms any more! When range 119 they said they don’t chase until after 5 days...
