How many cases in your primary school?

Piwlyfbicsly · 15/12/2020 20:22

This really. Since September, how many bubbles/year groups were asked to self isolate due to positive cases in your primary?
We had nearly each year group isolating once.

None. Town primary around 400 children.

Smartiepants79 · 15/12/2020 21:54

None in the small school I work in.
Also none we’ve been made aware of in my daughters large primary.
2 maybe three cases across my other daughters school.

SellFridges · 15/12/2020 22:11

Three. Two children and one member of staff. No knock on cases reported.

450 ish kids.

Birmingham.

piglet81 · 15/12/2020 22:20

1 case so that class had to isolate. London primary school of about 450 children.

It varies so much, doesn’t it!

lavenderlou · 15/12/2020 22:25

5 in the small one-form entry school I work in - 4 adults and 1 child. Two adults in one class caught it just a couple of days after two parents from the class had positive results, although none of the kids had symptoms.

My DC are also in a one-form entry primary. I don't know how many cases but they've had 3 bubble closures. One was definitely a child but the others may have been staff. The biggest primary school in our town has been completely closed for the last week due to number of cases.

FunnysInLaJardin · 15/12/2020 22:32

2 cases in the last week in DS2's very rural primary of about 200 kids. Lots of cases in years 7,8 and 9 of DS1's secondary. None in his yr 10, but we are still keeping them both off for this week.

Cannot isolate over Christmas unless we absolutely have to.

Silversun83 · 15/12/2020 22:37

Tier 3 area, semi-rural.

None up to half-term. Then year 4 due to an 'external provider'.

Then year 3 and reception due to a case in each year.

covidsecuremyass · 15/12/2020 22:56

Larger than average primary:

Reception: case in a pupil
Year 1: case in a pupil
Year 2: case in a school adult
Year 3: 7 cases pupil and school staff
Year 4: 2 cases school staff
Year 5: 1 case pupil
Year 6 2 cases.pupil

Entire kitchen staff wiped out due to positive cases (4)

Site manger positive

Year group bubbles are pretty much sealed into different parts of the building so there's no mixing across these.

Molehillfromamountain · 15/12/2020 23:00

1 in small village primary, 3 days before end of term.Xmas Sad

Understandingnotignorance · 15/12/2020 23:37

Every year group has at some point and some year groups twice.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 16/12/2020 05:25

2 cases in school, 2 different year groups. Both before October half term, no cases since then. DS wasn't in the affected year groups so he's been very lucky to have a full term at school with no isolation. We are in tier 3 Derbyshire, a town of about 40,000 people. School has about 400 pupils.

Whisperinastorm · 16/12/2020 06:39

0 in a Tier 3 primary school.

skankingpiglet · 16/12/2020 06:50

1 in our village primary, although because of the timing over half term no classes were sent home. Weekly attendance has been between 96 and 100%, and personally my DCs have only needed to miss 1 day to test and await results due to developing a standard winter cold (it was accompanied by a cough, hence the test).
It feels nothing short of miraculous, especially given the primaries in the neighbouring town have had numerous cases across years and the resulting closures of classes and schools. A lot of children at our school travel in from that town, so it feels like luck that we haven't been affected.

louisejxxx · 16/12/2020 06:57

No bubbles/year groups have had to isolate but I recently found out a boy in dd’s year group caught it over half term and then subsequently had more time off. I’m not sure why the year group didn’t have to have time off (but I do know he caught it from his older brother who is at a secondary) - I’m not entirely informed on the timings though so I’m sure it does actually all check out.

Parbor · 16/12/2020 07:08
  1. One teacher, one non teaching staff
TankGirl97 · 16/12/2020 07:10

None in our primary school (250ish kids). Which is a miracle really as lots of parents work at the local hospital.

Tfoot75 · 16/12/2020 07:11

5 cases in large primary school, c520 pupils Midlands tier 3.

All evenly spread since September (only one this half term during lockdown/tier 3 which is when local cases have been at their highest)

None are suspected to have caught it at school and there has been no known transmission within school (school update regularly in letters). Bubbles are classes now rather than year groups, except for early years.

KTD27 · 16/12/2020 07:12

V small village primary - every year group had its bubble go down at least once. All of key stage 1 at the same time (siblings) three members off staff tested positive so far. In my sons class there were 4 positive kids and his teacher (one of the children was him) the school outbreak was responsible for the cases in our area rising from 4 to 74 over two weeks!

notevenat20 · 16/12/2020 07:13

Large primary. Lots. Three different classes just last week. No stories of the parents being infected by their children interestingly.

PicnicPie · 16/12/2020 07:17

Large London primary. One case confirmed meaning one class bubble had to isolate. No other cases since sept.

LazyMaureen · 16/12/2020 07:20

Small school (210 pupils) in midlands.
Positive cases in Rec and y5 since half term. Whole class off self isolating.

Two local primary schools had to close the whole school due to members of staff who goes between classes testing positive. Most schools in this area have had at least 2 classes off at one point during this term.

TheSockMonster · 16/12/2020 07:24

0 here (Tier 2)

Every time I see the Head she says she can’t quite believe we’ve managed to get away with it so far!

Lots of cases at DS’s secondary school, but 0 cases of in-school transmission so their (strict) covid policies seem to be working brilliantly.

0 cases at DSS’s tiny sixth form.

Just hope our luck holds out a bit longer...

thebabewiththepower · 16/12/2020 07:24

1 in DS’s primary (420 kids) early on. About 1 million in DS2’s secondary. He’s year 7 and he has only been at school for 3 weeks so far this year. We are a low case area (under 50 cases per 100k). Not helped by parents lying to get a test for their children without normal symptoms so picking up a much higher case load than normal. Most schools are rife with it, just asymptomatic cases. I work in a 3rd school, we have had 4 cases.

tempnamechange98765 · 16/12/2020 07:25

Zero, large 3 form entry primary.

Friolero · 16/12/2020 07:26

2 form entry school has had 4 cases, all staff, resulting in 2 year groups off.
