The first batch are coming from Belgium. (Flown in?) The next are here and need to be put in vials which, apparently, can be done in days.

tobee · 23/12/2020 22:35

I think they're hoping to do millions a week (?)

Bathroom12345 · 23/12/2020 22:38

There are some very knowledgeable people on this thread so could I ask. Have there been further Pfizer deliveries bar the 800k already announced and are they being rolled out now? It’s gone a bit quiet

Bathroom12345 · 23/12/2020 22:40

Could I ask. Why would the first batch be in Belgium and the second batch already here?

tobee · 23/12/2020 22:44

Something to do with how it's been manufactured? Sorry that's not much help.

People are saying (sorry vague again) that the Pfizer vaccine has been coming in but on the QT so the shipment is not a target for terrorism.

Yes. Just going on posts I have read on here (by people who gave credible sources) 2.5 million doses of Pfizer in the UK, there have been a lot of deliveries since the first, and they are being used.
tobee · 23/12/2020 22:45

Maybe it's date specific and the Belgians had the wherewithal for the original manufacture? I should shut up now as I'm guessing. I just know "first lot:Belgium"

tobee · 23/12/2020 22:46

"

Yeah obviously not one of them!

Bathroom12345 · 23/12/2020 22:54

Terror attacks - God, I didn’t think of that.

I love some good news. There are people playing misery lottery on other threads. I will be cheering if Oxford gets the go ahead. First we get the Pfizer one and then Oxford. Maybe leaving the EU has its advantages.

Yes to all of this post
Bathroom12345 · 23/12/2020 23:03

I voted to leave EU but never in a million years did I think it would come in useful in quick approvals of vaccines.

Looks like we have a deal as I knew we would. Both sides wanted one but didn’t want to give in too early. It mustn’t look too easy to leave the EU.

Will keep an eye on this thread especially on 28th.

MarshaBradyo · 23/12/2020 23:16

Ah I voted remain Grin

But I’m only about the positive on this thread!

Pomegranatespompom · 23/12/2020 23:22

@MarshaBradyo I’m getting the vaccine on 4th Jan. I stated a thread but it didn’t take off 🤣
I wanted to let you know, you’ve been so nice.

We must be getting more pzifer soon- that’s what we’ve consented for in our London nhs trust.

Pomegranatespompom · 23/12/2020 23:23

@Bathroom12345 agree !

MarshaBradyo · 23/12/2020 23:25

Ah Pom I’m so happy for you!!

Well deserved. You’re the first person I know Grin yeh!

Pomegranatespompom · 23/12/2020 23:26

So hoping for wider vaccinations soon for you all.

Pomegranatespompom · 23/12/2020 23:28

Thank you @MarshaBradyo you were so lovely when I was disappointed about the delay 🌸

FuzzyPuffling · 24/12/2020 08:45

Oh glory, I wish I'd never mentioned the three weeks... it's been roundly misunderstood! Just ignore it!!!

Pomegranatespompom · 24/12/2020 09:22

We are getting the pzifer vaccine but our second appointment is booked fir 4 weeks later.
Happy Christmas everyone and thank you for the positive thread.

sashagabadon · 24/12/2020 10:38

Just heard on news French firefighters have come with tests to help the lorry drivers which is really good news and also feeling positive re. Brexit too.
Lovely interview on Times radio with a senior Brussels diplomat talking really positively about a post Brexit relationship with the U.K.
I do like to see the positive where I can so I am hopeful our relationship with the EU could be better in some ways than when we were in the EU. Bit like how some divorced couples or adult child / parent pairings get on much better once they are no longer living together Grin

FuzzyPuffling · 24/12/2020 10:42

Lovely analogy sasha. We've been watching the BBC news and honestly, they are so biased and negative I'm almost minded to complain. I'd like to see a bit of balanced reporting.

sashagabadon · 24/12/2020 10:55

Try Times Radio. Honestly it is a relevation. And I was an avid radio 4 listener for years.
They get really good guests and it is far more “balanced”.
The good and the bad.
I really enjoy Matt Chorley 10am. It’s a politics based show but fun with it. He makes me laugh and he points out some of the absurdity of it all in a lighthearted way.

FuzzyPuffling · 24/12/2020 10:58

I'm going to switch over now. BBC has just made me sad and grumpy and that's not good, is it?!

BBC is bad enough but the Guardian is absolutely appalling. Just endless misery
