Do you think the whole of London will be put into Tier 3?

Will the Christmas relaxation period of 5 days still stand?

"I'm a Northerner living in London. At no point has the tier I'm living in been something I could influence or make a decision on. I find the North/South attitude profoundly depressing."

And I'm originally a Londoner living in the North. I agree, the differences in resourcing, hospital capacity, investment and political decisions and media attitudes that have been massively laid bare by this crisis are profoundly depressing.

"The trouble is where the next nearest overflow hospital is. If one hospital is overwhelmed where are people in the badly affected area sent to next? How long does this take? Are there similar problems at other hospitals which would normally take in overflow patients (eg would they normally go to north Manchester hospitals and how are they holding up?) Thats your issue."

No. That's really not our issue. We wouldn't go to Manchester hospitals no. In fact we'd be going into a tier 2 area should we need an "overflow". We are not even nearly at that point anyway and haven't been for months. Yet we've been tier 3 for a long long time.

I'm assuming you don't know Lancashire very well based on that last post suggesting people in Morecambe would "overflow" to north Manchester? In which case you really shouldn't "guarantee" that all areas asking to be divided up Essex style are sharing ICU capacity. The comment about niiiiice areas also shows staggering naïveté about how some areas here are being treated.

We should be treated the same as every other area by this government yet we are not

@bendmeoverbackwards IDTA are now allowing video footage to be sent in, or Zoom exams are another options.

It sounds like another poster is doing a face to face exam in tier 3. Our principal is extremely vulnerable so may be doing remote exams only to avoid additional people coming into the school.

Thank you. Dd has one exam today before the restrictions come in so I guess we’ll here more later today.
