Carrying on from the old Ocado thread. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/a4045676-Ocado-tips-hacks-Toblerone-and-Christmas?msgid=102560793#102560793

I have been contributing, just changed my name to prevent being outed over something!

They weren't kidding. It was plastered in lurid pink Percy Pig images and in case anyone didn't recognise them it said Percy Pig in letters on the side of the van.

Ceara · 22/01/2021 09:07

I was excited for a moment at the thought of being able to book further in advance but no - just checked and still restricted to once every 7 days, up to 3 weeks ahead.

InescapableDeath · 22/01/2021 09:09

I had no subs this week. Miracle!

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 22/01/2021 09:12

Whenever I don’t want substitutions they always say keep them-I’ll just knock it off you bill🤷‍♀️

Fuss · 22/01/2021 09:37

The Percy pig vans are rare. There was a competition before Christmas to photograph one if you spotted it!

@Bubbinsmakesthree

Has anyone had star reviewer offers lately? I got invited sometime around November, duly reviewed all the (very boring) products offered and have heard nothing since.
I got some star reviewer coupons this morning - floor cleaner, face wash, deodorant (why do they always give me deodorant - are they trying to tell me something?!) and muesli - so nothing too exciting but not bad.

Sure am pleased to be offered a weekly reservation slot. Anytime else got lucky?

BentBastard · 22/01/2021 13:41

They keep offering me. It I won't use reserved because I often need my slot to be at different days/times depending on work.

PseudoBadger · 22/01/2021 13:54

@BentBastard I have mine reserved but you can change the slot once booked, so for example book Friday 7-8, when you get the booking email each week go in and amend the slot.

BentBastard · 22/01/2021 13:58

Thanks Badger, didn't realise you could change the slot if it's part of reserved!

Fuss · 22/01/2021 17:11

A customer has commented on the FB page that her friend can sit next to her and see slots that she cant. Ocado did the usual cop out of 'cant comment on other peoples accounts etc etc' but credit to Agustina, she pushed the issue.
This is as close as we've got to Ocado admitting to customer sorting with what they call 'customer groups'.
Unsurprisingly they haven't elaborated on what those groups are etc.

I'd expect ppl to see different slots unless they lived close together and had their last orders on the same date. E.g. if my last booked order was 3 days before my friend's, I'd expect to see slots 3 days earlier.

Cactusowl · 22/01/2021 20:23

No subs or missing items today but I got a bonus block of emmental which I assume someone else is missing!

Fuss · 22/01/2021 20:29

The point was she'd not had a booked order, she couldn't get any slot yet her friend could.
atomt · 22/01/2021 21:44

I'm not at all surprised they have customer groups with different slot availability - all companies do this to some extent, especially ones with as much technology at their fingertips as Ocado. They will know exactly who their best customers are in terms of LTV (customer lifetime value) - those customers who will give them the most money over the duration of the relationship. They don't want to give those most valuable customers a reason to go elsewhere if there are no slots left.

So ... after a new year hiatus I had a delivery this morning. Everything there. Delivered as requested. Would have preferred the driver not to have coughed all over my bags through his cloth mask - but I guess one can't have everything.

In other news - Riverford are having to skip delivery next week. Too many of the workforce self isolating or ill (and I hadn't pre-ordered). Slight tremor in the fabric of the universe ...

BadGuyDuh · 23/01/2021 16:17

The loaf of sliced bread that was delivered on Tuesday had a shorter shelf life (use by Thu) than the same brand loaf I bought from Spar on Saturday (use by Fri). Not that impressed, trying not to put whole loaves in my freezer as no room and trying not to go to Spar in the meantime!

That’s doesn’t surprise me of riverford. Don’t expect the working conditions are that good. They never used to be.
StanfordPines · 23/01/2021 17:32

My last delivery was all there but an hour early! I’d only just got in. No phone call. He just hoped it was ok after he had loaded everything onto the step.

likestoski · 24/01/2021 03:28

Bit random but I had some muffins in my order this morning, the thing is they were from Morrison’s???

doireallyneedaname · 24/01/2021 09:41

Does anyone know if Ocado workers are tested for covid? I think I read that they are tested weekly. Just wondering because a couple of months back when we asked the driver to just dump the bags and we’d grab them when he left, he told us he’d just had his test and so we didn’t need to worry.

PursuingProxemicExactitude · 24/01/2021 09:46

Annoyingly they outlined their Covid measures in an email about a week ago - which I've since deleted.

PowerslidePanda · 24/01/2021 09:52

Yeah, the short dates are annoying. My deliveries come on a Friday evening and the bananas usually go out of date Sunday. After a few weeks of this, I decided for my most recent order to get ripen-at-home ones instead. The date on them is Sunday... Hmm

PrincessW11 · 24/01/2021 10:33

I do a mixture of Ocado, Waitrose & Sainsburys. It's been ok getting slots all over Xmas now L3. Sainsburys I can book up to a wk in advance, Ocado & Waitrose up to 4wks in advance

Ocado did used to deliver for Morrisons, but i thought that had stopped
