Carrying on from the old Ocado thread. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/a4045676-Ocado-tips-hacks-Toblerone-and-Christmas?msgid=102560793#102560793

I have been contributing, just changed my name to prevent being outed over something!

Mine came 3 hours early while I was out and delivery guy left in the porch and left me a cheery happy Christmas message 😁. One sub which I didn’t want but will just request refund as inappropriate sub. I’m pretty pleased.

StanfordPines · 24/12/2020 12:35

I wouldn’t be happy at it being left in the porch. He should have phoned first.

Ontheboardwalk · 24/12/2020 12:42

tootyfruitypickle I’d have been really annoyed at my shopping being left in the porch. Did you complain?

Was it an Ocado delivery? They are really strict about delivery within the arranged timescales

Madcats · 24/12/2020 13:28

Good to hear that Christmas orders are (mostly) turning out okay.

It used to be quite common for me to be phoned by an Ocado driver a couple of hours early if he was delivering locally (which is much nicer than waiting up for a late delivery). I'm not sure whether this is because I have a delivery comment "It is usually okay to deliver early".

I've taken in a neighbour's shopping once (often comment that the entire street should coordinate our deliveries) but I would have been cross to arrive home to find my shopping left early if they'd not phoned to check.

StanfordPines · 24/12/2020 14:25

Just come back from Waitrose. It was empty. I was expecting huge queues. Lots of fresh stuff reduced to pence.

tootyfruitypickle · 24/12/2020 17:59

They phoned but I had my phone on silent. I have a message on my account to say if early they can leave in porch (ie if they come at 730am for a 9 delivery!). I didn’t mind. There were frozen prawns but I’m sure there is at least 30 mins between me picking out freezer at supermarket and arriving home.

tootyfruitypickle · 24/12/2020 17:59

As in I was home 30 mins later.

Although actually if I’d been at work it would have been 3 hours which wouldn’t have been good!

tootyfruitypickle · 24/12/2020 18:00

Tbh just glad to have it and no harm done

Ellmau · 24/12/2020 20:25

.for mid Jan no milk of the type she normally has

It may come back in stock if you check later and you can then edit it in

My Christmas present from Ocado today was an email saying my SmartPass would be increasing from £5.99 to £9.99 in January. 🎄

I'm in a quandary. If everything was going well I wouldn't give the extra £4 another thought. But at the moment I'm getting barely two deliveries a month, had no Christmas slot, no free shortbread Xmas Sad and am definitely way down the list of valued customers. It's getting harder and harder to see what 'defence against the apocalypse' benefits I'm actually receiving ...

SavoyCabbage · 24/12/2020 21:22

I'm definitely not renewing mine. I'm at the stage where if something is in stock I'm surprised.

I can only book a slot seven days in advance and not every week. I'm noticing more and more things disappearing. And on the many occasions there is something missing and I go to M&S (happens to be my nearest supermarket) to buy whatever it is I didn't get with my order it's always cheaper.

I dis a Morrison's order last weekend and it was delivered three hours after I ordered it.

Egghead68 · 25/12/2020 06:42

I’m sticking with Waitrose now after my fiasco of a Christmas delivery from Ocado.

CoteFolie · 25/12/2020 10:46

Happy Christmas all. 🎁

I managed to get a Waitrose slot at midnight for the first week in January which felt like a win. 👍
And also very 2020!

Enjoy the day🎅🎅

Timbucktime · 25/12/2020 18:20

I had an email a couple of days ago saying that my mid week delivery pass was going to stay at £1.49 a month. Strange to only email now as my year was up in Sep.
I now have a reserved slot for each Wednesday set up which I think was an IT glitch as they said it wasn’t available to me but after trying to set it up for what felt like a 100 times it finally went through,
If it wasn’t for that reserved slot I would be back to how things were earlier in the year, only being offered a slot on a day I would have to pay extra for.

GarytheRedNosedUnicorn · 25/12/2020 19:04

I ordered a lovely looking Porchetta joint from Waitrose. A lady from the fulfilment centre rang and apologised profusely that it was out of stock. Of course I told her it wasn’t her fault, and she said a lot of people had been fairly abusive about the situation (I think possibly a supplier let them down) Result : refund of £26 for the joint, and two pork lion joints (£22) to over the same weight sent completely free! One went straight in the freezer! Brilliant customer service!

bruffin · 26/12/2020 11:42

I got another survey from them last week, told them im not happy again, as haf a survey a couple of weeks ago except that the drivers are lovely

StanfordPines · 27/12/2020 18:16

Well this is annoying.
I got a delivery slot for Waitrose next week but there is so much that I can’t get there it’s hardly worth the effort.

orangenasturtium · 28/12/2020 00:12

So... subs on sellotape, potatoes (king edwards for Maris Piper which is fine!)

LOL I got Maris Pipers as a substitute for King Edwards @PseudoBadger

GiantKitten · 28/12/2020 17:25

Did anybody have one of these at Christmas?
I’ve got one (reduced further) in an order due next week & wondered if they’re any good.

FurForksSake · 28/12/2020 18:17

I still can't use the app, is it back for everyone?

PoulePouletteEternellement · 28/12/2020 18:29

Nope ...

I have no real expectation of seeing it return before pigs grow wings.

ShivD · 28/12/2020 18:35

I have had the the app back for a few months now. Do you think the discrepancies are geographical?

Fuss · 28/12/2020 20:36

Nope. Still not worthy.

GiantKitten · 28/12/2020 22:31
