Look at the image from www.bmj.com/content/370/bmj.m3223
I've circled where we fall in classrooms. It's time for face coverings in classrooms. I don't want to loose any colleagues or my own life.

motherrunner Unsafe working conditions. Talk about featherbedded and disconnected. Ask the kids in the Congo who mine the coltan to manufacture the devices you spout your ‘Woe is Me drivel’ about unsafe working conditions.

Susanwouldntlikeit · 06/12/2020 17:56

God I wish teachers would stop moaning!!!
Ha! you’re not wrong.
I am a teacher and really despair of the impression some prolific posters misrepresent of the majority of us in RL who are not moaning, who get on with the job we enjoy with a few minor temporary constraints that are ridiculously minimal compared to what most of the population have endured this year.

mumsneedwine · 06/12/2020 18:02

@embolass 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 thank you. I needed a laugh.

mumsneedwine · 06/12/2020 18:02

@Susanwouldntlikeit I am so sorry. I just hope your friends don't die on you. It's quite upsetting.

I was taking you seriously until you posted this.
CallmeAngelina · 06/12/2020 18:14

Susan, If you really are the teacher you profess to be, you bring shame on the profession with your persistent unpleasantness and lack of empathy towards others who are clearly experiencing huge stresses in their work at the moment.
You work in a private school, I believe, and none of us is under any illusion that conditions there are in any way comparable to those of us in the state system.

embolass · 06/12/2020 18:17

Sorry? Why is that comment re the Congo not serious?
What I’ve learned over the last hour, apart from some teachers being unable to spell Scotland and holidays EachDubh, is that there are very thin skinned posters on here. You call someone a troll when you don’t like what they say or believe. Good job we in the nursing profession never do that, we accept one and all. Night night x

mumsneedwine · 06/12/2020 18:20

@embolass you are so funny.

Susanwouldntlikeit · 06/12/2020 18:21

I am a teacher and I work in a state secondary school (not academy) The way people make unwarranted assumptions is disappointing but not surprising. Much easier to make ad hominem (look it up) attacks to try to reinforce your own (shaky) position than accept people have differing experiences.

Kitcat122 · 06/12/2020 18:23

55embolass

Plus remember you have 12 weeks holidays to escape from it all

And as support staff unpaid.

noblegiraffe · 06/12/2020 18:23

mums don’t let the obviously goady posters get a response from you. It’s really hard not to get wound up when it is something you’ve experienced as personally as you have.

They’re just attention seeking and not worth it.

mumsneedwine · 06/12/2020 18:26

@noblegiraffe 😊. She genuinely is making me laugh. Chatting with DD who is working on covid ward and she says she's nuts. She is showing her boss and colleagues in the car park and they are enjoying taking the mick apparently.

Where do you work please? Is this a state or private school? How many cases have there been at your school? How many students does your school have? What ages/phases? Which area are you in? Are you a tier 3 comprehensive in a hard hit area?

If you are a parent too, has your child had Covid? Did they contract it at school? How did you feel about them contracting it at a school?

At your school do you have classes of 30?

CallmeAngelina · 06/12/2020 18:29

@Susanwouldntlikeit, "Look it up?"
You think I would need to? Do you use that sort of attempted put-down with your students in class?
How does that go down with them? And their parents? Would you do it during an observation?

CallmeAngelina · 06/12/2020 18:31

@Kitcat122, Not just support staff. Teachers' holidays are also unpaid, apart from the statutory weeks.

noblegiraffe · 06/12/2020 18:33

Tbh mums that wasn’t the one I was thinking of...you have been deleted though and they bloody love trying to get teachers banned.

I really despair of your lack of empathy with other teachers and people who work in schools. Yes, many other professions have had an awful year. I am in awe of care home staff, nurses and doctors, the emergency services and many others. That doesn't mean teachers and school staff don't deserve to be as safe as they can.
Kitcat122 · 06/12/2020 18:37

Sorry @Callmeangelina I didn't actually know that xx

noblegiraffe · 06/12/2020 18:38

There are two ways to reliably get responses to your posts on MN. The first is to be generally well-liked and make good points. The second is to be a complete twat and make dreadful points.

People who can’t do the first and still want not to be posting into a void opt for the second.

Some are more obvious than others.

Kitcat122 · 06/12/2020 18:40

@Embolass I have great admiration and support for all NHS staff always, especially now. I don't think we have it harder. I just think schools should be safer.

Now I just cannot believe a single word that you write because you have definitely told us you work in an independent school before. Bye bye now.

I appologise, i am on my phone, auto correct and knackered fingers and doing two things at once mean I, like many make mistakes, sorry I should have checked. I am glad however you understood the points made, the human brains ability to read and make sense even with spelling mistakes is amazing.
You have also made mistakes, Nicola hasn't said all senior pupils and teachers to wear masks at all times, that is only in the top two tiers in other tiers it is only in communal spaces.
Personally your input is so far off the mark as to be meaningless so I bid you good night and good health.

mumsneedwine · 06/12/2020 18:44

@noblegiraffe ooh I've been deleted. Almost a badge of honour. Wonder what I said 😂
