Are you a good citizen?

I am so sick of the naysayers for the vaccine. All the rigorous testing is being completed at top speed no CHM or FDA would allow a vaccine to pass through without it.

         People are dying.

I applied for the vaccine trial but due to health reasons will be some time before I am allowed it.

I will one of the many will be relying on others to get vaccinated to help it being less virulent in general society.

When I ask if you are a good citizen? I'm asking do you care about your friend with auto immune disorder, your scared elderly neighbour and your mate with asthma who is worried?

There is purposeful misinformation on the internet to disrupt the vaccine distribution

I would rather read the CHM information and WHO if you are worried.

The sooner we see this go from society the sooner life and business will return.

Oh but I'll have the vaccination if offered.

littlebillie · 23/11/2020 09:30

@OpheliasCrayon

So you're judging everyone else from within. That's lovely. You sound delightful, that's my judgement
Hilarious judging me too - interesting response

@roarfeckingroarr

I'm not. I've broken lockdown rules. I have a small baby and have had friends over to meet him and stop my mental health rapidly deteriorating. Not parties, but a friend over for a couple of hours to have a glass of wine and a proper chat. I'm not sorry.
I'm not asking if you broke lockdown to save your sanity. Most of us have out of necessity or kindnesses.

I only asked if people would take the vaccine if offered for their community. The outrage of suggesting, this is dismal on here

@katy1213

When do you think the Covid police will retire from Mumsnet? This time next year? 2022? Or later?
Never. Too many people on too high horses.
Funkypolar · 23/11/2020 09:47

Well I’m not having it when pregnant, even if that makes me a “bad citizen” in the eyes of an anonymous person on the internet. Oh well:

Hopefullynamechanged935 · 23/11/2020 09:47

@OpheliasCrayon - what autoimmune disorder do you have? I have one and I thought we could have vaccines so kong as they're not live

TheGreatWave · 23/11/2020 09:49

You didn't just do that though, you split people into good and bad depending on their views.

Iwantacookie · 23/11/2020 09:55

I'm on the fence about the vaccine so does that make me a good citizen or not?
Until it comes a time for me or my children to be offered it I will decide then but if we were offered it today it would be a no.

I agree with the above

You didn’t ask

You put a judgment on it

For what its worth, i wont be offered a vaccination for a while but I’d take it

Funkypolar · 23/11/2020 11:20

I think some people would like us to have a system like China’s Social Credits.

Dustballs · 23/11/2020 11:21

No bloody way am I having the vaccine - or any of my children (if it's offered to them).

What's it got to do with being a good citizen anyway?

MadameBlobby · 23/11/2020 11:22

I’ll be having it as soon as I can

I don’t see having a vaccine as any worse than any of the other restrictions we’ve all had to put up with for months for the common good. I’d rather have a vaccine than endless SD and masks.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 23/11/2020 11:29

Oh and I don’t like the idea of these stupid freedom passes ir vaccination certificates either

CrunchyCarrot · 23/11/2020 11:31

It's not just about whether rigorous testing has been done or not. I am certain it has been done, and is still being done. For me, it's about whether those of us who aren't particularly healthy (like me, I've an autoimmune disease that isn't well under control) will tolerate any vaccine well or not. We simply don't know., because we're not the category of person who is included in trials (i.e. poorly-managed chronic illness). It's nothing to do with being anti-vax nor due to believing conspiracy theories. We just want facts and data to make up our own minds.

I am very cautious by nature and want to be as sure as possible. So no, I won't be having any vaccine until I feel happy that it won't do me harm. Hopefully that day will come. My body, my choice.

As I am house-bound whether I have it or not is pretty immaterial as I'm not out and about in society.
