Feeling so unwell is it possible?

Good evening everyone,
I’m worried I’ve got COVID. My dd (4) got sent home Tuesday because someone in her class bubble was/is positive. She’s been fine so far. I started with a slight head ache and sore throat Thursday. Yesterday I felt worse my head was killing. Today I feel shocking. Throat no better my head is killing again and I feel so so sick. I’m not usually one to get Ill I feel honestly horrendous. Everyone I know who’s had it/knows someone who’s had says it feels like a never ending hangover. I haven’t lost taste or smell and I have no cough or temp. Should I get tested?

I would get tested

TwinkleMerrick · 21/11/2020 19:46

Yes get a test. My neighbour is just recovering after 2 weeks and she said she didn't have any symptoms, just a headache and exhaustion. She tested positive after being tested.

TiredMamof2 · 21/11/2020 19:47

I currently have Covid, this sounds pretty much like I felt in the first few days. I didn’t lose taste and smell til day 4/5. I would strongly suggest getting a test, FYI please be aware you will be expected to isolate as soon as your test is booked.

LucyCharlotteP · 21/11/2020 19:49

Ah really?! Headache seems to be one of the most common symptoms right now from what I gather. Is nausea known as a symptom? I’m so worried.

Nausea isn't classed as a symptom in the UK, but seems to be everywhere else in the world!

Book a test.

FredtheFerret · 21/11/2020 19:55

Book a test. DH had a banging headache and joints aching and no sense of smell.

I had back ache and felt nauseous.

We both tested positive. Your daughter may be asymptomatic.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 21/11/2020 19:56

Yes nausea is a known symptom.

Other countries test if you have one if a much longer list of symptoms. We do the top 3 because it's unusual not to get one of them (but they're not usually the first ones).

Do you feel hot to touch?

I'd book a test & a shopping delivery!!

Do you have a partner or us it just you & DD?

I've been for a test today. Since Thursday been shivering but no temp and today got the worst headache that just won't shift, feel generally crappy like I've got something and my legs feel abit heavy?? Hope you feel better soon

Foggyday124 · 21/11/2020 20:06

Migraine-like headache that wouldn’t shift for two days was how my covid started.

hollieberrie · 21/11/2020 20:08

I felt horrendous when I had it with all sorts of odd, non classic symptoms. Defo get tested. Hope you feel better soon.

TiredMamof2 · 21/11/2020 20:08

I also had nausea but that was very mild and didn’t start until yesterday but I have friends who also have Covid at the moment and one has said she’s really struggled with nausea

KTD27 · 21/11/2020 20:09

Yes. We caught it from our asymptomatic son sent home due to his bubble bursting,
Get a test and feel better

Riv12345 · 21/11/2020 20:12

Hi op my colleague had covid back in April
She had the horrendous headache.
She was actually in tears with and no pain killer worked.

Definitely get a test.
Take care and make sure you drink loads

Let us know how you get on

All the best

TheAdventuresoftheWishingChair · 21/11/2020 20:13

It does sound like it, unfortunately. Poor you. I hope tomorrow is easier.

Augustbreeze · 21/11/2020 20:45

Hopefully if it is Covid you'll have it mildly. Don't worry!

PrivateD00r · 21/11/2020 20:50

Aw bless you, I really hope you feel better soon. I would personally get a test in your shoes given that you are not otherwise isolating. Best to know for sure. Good luck Flowers

LucyCharlotteP · 21/11/2020 20:55

Thank you everyone. I feel so guilty I just went to the shops Thursday before my headaches started I just had a mild sore throat. I could have been spreading it ☹️. I hope I manage to get some sleep but my head is just hurting like no other headache I’ve had before.

Mindymomo · 21/11/2020 21:52

I would get a test, but as you don’t have any of the 3 main symptoms to get a test, you may need to tick one of them, cough, temperature or loss of taste and smell.

justleavemebe · 21/11/2020 21:57

Yeah get a test, my only symptoms were headache and nausea and I got my positive test this morning.

TwinkleMerrick · 21/11/2020 21:59

Don't worry about spreading it unwittingly just do the right thing now. Get a test. I recently had to isolate for 2 weeks after being track and traced...had a test came back negative but still had to isolate....first day out today, felt so good to go the park and feel the wind on my face Smile

Crakeandoryx · 21/11/2020 22:01

Yes get a test. For some reason lots of people are reporting nausea with this wave rather than cough and temp.

PrivateD00r · 21/11/2020 22:21

@LucyCharlotteP

Not your fault at all. I was in work (I am a midwife!!) on the same day that I later felt unwell and was tested (positive). I felt so bad but you cannot predict what is going to happen later that day/week. I did feel really tired but had put that down to working 5 crazy busy shifts in a row due to staffing. We need to stop being so hard on ourselves!
LucyCharlotteP · 22/11/2020 07:36

Thank you all again. I’ve woken up feeling the same but feeling the need to cough now so yeah I must defiantly have it. Going to book a test now. My eldest dd (11) woken up feeling sick and head ache so I better get her tested also. My youngest no symptoms yet and neither does oh so would they also need to get tested?

rc22 · 22/11/2020 07:46

Book a test. I had dreadful headache on my first day of covid. Book a test. Have you got any paracetamol? I found they made me feel a lot better.

ChasingRainbows19 · 22/11/2020 07:53

My niece started with these symptoms and was positive when she went a week later after feeling worse.
