DS has a cough so we got him tested today at 12. When do you reckon we will get results back? Would be great if he could go back to nursery! especially as his cough has stopped!!

Been 50 hours and still waiting, I'm south west.

babychange12 · 09/11/2020 16:45

Oh Jesus! That's long!! Sad
Regretting getting him tested now

Almost 72 hours, this is ridiculous now.
Husband can't work so no money as don't get paid if isolating for dependents, not on uc so can't get anything extra.
Have 2 children with sen that need routine and are kicking of at home.

We got our DS tested this time yesterday. No results yet. He woke up with a frequent cough yesterday but it stopped basically as soon as we booked the test... I think he's just got a cold coming on and having been asleep all night it made him cough first thing in the morning (which is obviously when we have to make a decision about school and childcare). I feel like we over-reacted and the chances of him being positive are incredibly low. He hasn't coughed today other than a couple of times on waking but he hasn't been able to go to school or childcare. I hope he gets the results soon so we can go back to normal! He's having a fantastic time at home but it's hard working from home with a four year old.

Mine only took 12 hours. I was shocked!

Treaclepie19 · 10/11/2020 11:06

31 hours for our son.
Currently awaiting our results now.

babychange12 · 10/11/2020 19:21

@aureliacecilia are you me? That's exactly what happened to us.

I'm massively regretting getting a test now. 30 hours and counting still no results
He's not even coughing anymore 🙄

Still waiting here @babychange12!

ittooshallpass · 10/11/2020 19:30

Got mine in 30 hours.

ittooshallpass · 10/11/2020 19:31

I was told up to 72 hours when I had the test so was pleased with 30.

HarrietOh · 10/11/2020 19:32

33 hours and still waiting here.

babychange12 · 10/11/2020 19:38

Do they text or email you?
It's so not worth doing a test if it's going to take that long!

Did one previously, all 3 took around 48 hours. Had to do one recently for DD as she had a temp for all of 3 hours and it took around 31 hours but it came back inconclusive and was told to order another, but because we've just done one on her we're not allowed to order her another. We're having to pay £50 a day at nursery for her to be at home because she isn't allowed back in without a negative test but the government won't let us order one!

sandrapanda · 10/11/2020 19:45

Got DS results in 23hrs, my test took 46hrs, live in the Midlands

HarrietOh · 10/11/2020 20:59

Finally got mine (positive) so took 33.5 hours!

Sevo7 · 10/11/2020 21:05

First test for my DP 2 weeks ago to 80 hours for a drive in centre.

Had my toddler DD tested on Sunday at 1pm at a walk in centre and the results were back at 2pm the next day. She also developed a cough on Saturday night which was horrendous at the time and I knew nursery wouldn’t accept her Monday (rightly so) however it disappeared 24 hours later and her test was negative so know idea what that was!

kazza446 · 10/11/2020 21:06

Been an average of 30 hours here. 3 tests, all positive

whatswithtodaytoday · 10/11/2020 21:10

Another one with a disappearing cough! Toddler had a cough on Saturday, terrible night with no sleep, got him tested on Sunday morning, and by Monday morning he was absolutely fine. The test result came back that evening, around 31 hours.

whatswithtodaytoday · 10/11/2020 21:11

Test was negative!

kittlesticks · 10/11/2020 21:11

8 days for us. Negative.

throwaway10000 · 10/11/2020 21:12

It’s always been within 24 hours or less in my household

Giganticshark · 10/11/2020 21:13

3 weeks ago in northwest mine took 30 hours. Midday test. Next evening result. That was a weekend too

Imaystillbedrunk · 10/11/2020 21:16

Our son was tested last week and took about 30 hours for the results

Bedraggledmumoftwo · 10/11/2020 21:18

Me and dd done at 13.30 yesterday, drive thru, east england. Mine was back at 06.11 this morning. Got my hopes up about taking her to school when I saw but it was only mine although there were two messages. Hers came through at 17.42 - nearly 12 hrs later even though they went in together and hers was scanned first. So 16-17hrs for mine and 28-29 for hers

mumtobabygilrl · 10/11/2020 21:22

Was tested 3pm Friday (Midlands) results Sunday afternoon
