So I’m a little slow to the mark as I don’t use social media but recently been told on FB there are these huge communities coming together over the idea that the virus isn’t real and this is all a way for the government to control us.

I’m personally not one for conspiracy theories however I do find it interesting in people’s beliefs around them.

The idea seems to be that the government want to track and trace each individual by injecting us with this type of device....if this was true and we did all become ‘controlled’ what do people believe would happen after that? As I genuinely can’t work it out, what advantage the government would have tracing us??? (Other than criminals and fraudulent people being at a disadvantage, I can’t see why it would matter if they did know where we was, as they do anyway from our phones).

Ideas and thoughts welcome as this has caught my interest in what the big plot is!

There’s a lot of interesting reading/documentaries about how governments have used terror to their advantage even if they didn’t orchestrate all of it. If anything covid has chucked a spanner in the works meaning the previously docile, spoiled population were happy enough but now we’re a mixture of scared, skint, pissed off and with too much time on our hands. That will be terrifying the power classes

Well that's all of us terrified then. They've been terrified for a while though, that's why they've used fear to control us. I'm too terrified to be pissed off now. So, I'm more docile than before Grin. They've been worried since 1999 in Seattle when it became apparent that many causes could coalesce around economic justice. What is needed more than anything is class politics and a proper analysis of what is happening, including an understanding of how this pandemic is disproportionately effecting the working class, but also what is happening to the hollowing out of the middle class. Instead we have been fed a daily diet of post structuralist bullshit and identity politics. We might be a bit angry but what does that matter when we are so divided. Covid is proving to be very devisive. There is no agreement on the left over what action should be taken to control the virus, and very little analysis of how lockdown is causing greater immiseration, or whether lockdown actually offers some protection to the lives of keyworkers.

No government would have orchestrated a virus to kill the economy. Its killing itself in its present form. Governments, the state and global elites are working to find a way of exploiting our labour and lives to further enrich themselves and those they serve. But using Covid even as a cover makes absolutely no sense. Although having said that billionaires have seen their wealth grow since march whilst the rest of us our scratching about.
