Don't fall down that rabbit hole. Do I think governments would like to track us, yes. Do I think eventually tracking devices could be used to include/exclude, to track, to pay for services and goods etc, to be used instead of passports or other ID, yes I do. Do I think it could be used for security and to deal with political dissent, and terrorism, yes I do. However people are dying, we have thousands of excess deaths this year that can not be attributed to anything else, so we may as well safely assume its Covid, in view of the fact there is no alternative explanation.
Do I think our government could use Covid and public health as a pretext to withdraw civil liberties, yes, they already have. Will our government and other European governments continue to legislate against civil liberties and seek greater control over public life, yes, they fear insurrection.
European governments set up a think tank concerning itself with tracing and analysing all forms of protest and civil unrest. This is in response to the imminent collapse of this mode of production and a shift towards AI, greater use of technology, and automation, rising unemployment. This shift will bring about economic crisis, large corporations, investors, innovators, banks getting very twitchy. See The Great Reset, world economic forum etc,.. no one individual business or individual, or group of individuals is driving these changes, its an inevitable consequence of two things, technology and competition.
