Just check my app exposure notifications

I followed some info I had seen on here and checked my phone settings for my app exposure notifications, just out of curiosity. However my app apparently hasn't checked for exposures since 24th Sept?!?! How has that happened?

It's in Google on mine. So in settings, then google services and preferences.

Mine says how often it's checked in the past two weeks, and did a check at 8.30.

dementedpixie · 01/11/2020 20:37

If you've been told 10 days then your contact was likely to be 4 days ago.

millymae · 01/11/2020 20:37

Not convinced my app is working although I have had several notifications telling me not to worry - they’ve assessed my risk and I don’t need to do anything.
When I go into settings for the app and click on exposure notifications I just get an explanation of what exposure notifications does and a link which takes me to an explanation of how the app works. There isn’t a screen like odd boots screenshot.

dementedpixie · 01/11/2020 20:39

Its not settings on the app, its the phone settings you want

@Chairlove my son has had the same thing. Isolating for 5 days. He doesn't know where- he only goes to work and isn't aware of anyone there being positive.

He also hadn't checked his app for a while, so doesn't know when the notification was first sent.

AlexandraEiffel · 01/11/2020 20:43

@nameychange

How can you see the venue logs?
On mine it's about this app then manage my data. On an iPhone
hotMenopause · 01/11/2020 20:50

Does any one know what the matched key count stands for? Hope it’s not obvious and I’m being dim.

Chairlove · 01/11/2020 20:54

I checked and was exposed on Tuesday. I’d it unlikely as sat in an office myself for the full day. Travelled to work alone and in my car. Then never left the house

Mines like yours. Including checking twice at each time?!
myhobbyisouting · 01/11/2020 20:55

@AlexandraEiffel aren't you talking about your check ins?

The exposure log is in settings.

So on an iPhone go to settings - nhs covid app - covid exposure login settings - exposure checks.

You then get a list of times it checked against the other people you've come into contact with

myhobbyisouting · 01/11/2020 20:56

@Chairlove no, the app of a person that tested positive (and you've been near them) was updated on Tuesday with their positive result. That doesn't mean you were near them on Tuesday

Pertella · 01/11/2020 20:58

Mine hasn't checked since September either.

If you are on android go to settings and then Google and it will come ip.

I emailed the app support who told mr to clear cache and data but thats not helped.

dementedpixie · 01/11/2020 21:01

My android phone seemed to have auto disabled the app as I hadn't had notifications since September either. Go into the apps list and see if yours had been disabled too

I've been taking about both. I have venue check ins listed which I was answering a question about where they are. But I don't have any exposure checks (found in app settings) despite exposure logging being activated.

StealthPolarBear · 01/11/2020 21:09

I'm on an android and can't find them anywhere but I know I've seen them before. In settings I don't have Google exposure.

StealthPolarBear · 01/11/2020 21:10

OK there is a Google, despite it not coming up when I searched. Thanks!

Chairlove · 01/11/2020 21:13

@myhobbyisouting that makes sense.

So basically only place this could of been is when I was out for dinner last Sunday - 48 hrs from exposure. As Monday went to work and home again.

But my bubble friend has not been contacted who I was having dinner with. She doesn’t have the app, but signed in via track and trace paperwork. Not too sure if that will be a delay or be contacted.

boarboar · 01/11/2020 21:15

@Chairlove

Mine has checked frequently. But no exposures. However I have a notification from the app saying I need to self isolate as been in contact with a positive person. But I have not been anywhere except work. No one tested positive at work. Told 10 days instead of 14.

However I have regular tests as part of a trial, but not booked via the app. . Confused. As been told to isolate for 10 days. I assume it’s from last contact. Worried somehow the app is linked via nhs number to my test results, which I normally get via email on a Monday and told me positive before email?

I had this same thing. Told to self isolate for 10 days as I'd been near someone who had tested positive. I've been WFH and hadn't been anywhere to be exposed to anyone for long enough or close enough to trigger (in my view). I was wondering if there was some sort of glitch but couldn't find anything online.

I got an exposure notification after I’d taken dd to a test centre (never left the car) but no further notice to isolate or anything like that so presume someone in a nearby car got a positive.

I think it checks how long/distance you were in contact for so it’s possible you’ve sat next to another car at traffic lights or something and it’s picked that up.

Chairlove · 01/11/2020 21:20

@boarboar it doesn’t make sense. Sunday I walked to the shops, empty street . Wore a mask and was in there less than 5 minutes. Stayed socially apart.

Sunday dinner with bubble friend and her kids. I drove myself. Tables socially apart. Only thing I had to queue was to pay for food. But still in mask and socially distanced. My friend not been contacted.

It must be a glitch. They did make the app more sensitive and reduced overall distance and time it records your risk. But must accept my fate.

Nootkah · 01/11/2020 21:28

How do I check? These are the options I get in app settings

Just check my app exposure notifications
dementedpixie · 01/11/2020 21:29

Its on your phone settings not the app settings

Pinkflipflop85 · 01/11/2020 21:45

Articles about app problems are currently trending on twitter. Apparently the app settings aren't sensitive enough and thousands of people have not been notified about exposure.
