Positive test and only symptom is tiredness. Did anyone start off ok and get worse?

I’ve just had a positive test result but feel fine apart from feeling really tired. I’ve had none of the symptoms the NHS list.

Did anyone start off ok but then deteriorate? I’m feeling a bit anxious about it.

None of the 'classic' symptoms but have been feeling weirdly woozy and nauseous on and off all week. Sinuses feel a bit tight and nose a bit bunged up which is affecting taste slightly. Will probably get test if taste/smell become less

Missandra · 24/10/2020 14:04

@MyWedding how are you feeling today?

Dh, both dd’s and ds have all started sneezing today! Dh and dd1 both feel really tired too. My youngest dd is only 10 and despite the sneezing she is dancing around and playing as usual. Honestly if I hadn’t had a positive test I would think it was just a cold.

Oh god this really worries me. I totally get not over-thinking yourself to be ill, but I'm really concerned that I've either had it mildly (runny nose and prickly eyes) and have unknowingly passed it on, or will get it mildly and do the same in the future.

I've thought about booking a test, but haven't have any of the three symptoms the NHS site lists, so haven't.

I would love to be routinely tested for my own piece of mind about not transmitting it unintentionally.

MyWedding · 24/10/2020 14:13

@Missandra I'm feeling okay thank you and like you said, if I hadn't had a positive test I would be ok, I would be out at the shops and in work. I keep thinking to myself have I got chest pains when breathing but i do think that's just my anxiety.

DH and DC are showing no symptoms so I'm trying my hardest to stay away from them. Really hope it continues like this.

How long do you have to isolate for?

It’s a bit rubbish isn’t it. Work have told me that a lot of the staff who have tested positive only have cold symptoms. It really makes you wonder why the government don’t expand the list of symptoms

Yes a friend of mine is a paramedic in a rural part of the country and all staff had antibody tests in the summer.

About 40% of them had antibodies, but most of them had no idea that they'd had the virus.

I’m glad you’re feeling ok. I wondered if my tight chest is being caused by me being a bit anxious.

According to the NHS I would finish my isolation a week on Monday. However for work it’s two weeks from yesterday. I also have to have 2 negative tests 48hrs apart before work will let me go back.

OP

I started on Tuesday with a headache and aching body.

More of the same on Wednesday so I go a test as I had been in direct contact with another case.

Thursday I had an upset stomach still tired and achy but the achy has worn off a bit got a bit out of breath coming up the stairs.

Friday felt much better but still had achy body and head.

Today I feel like my chest is tight and like I am not getting a full breath. It's not constant it comes and goes. My chest feels like it's burning inside.

christinarossetti19 · 24/10/2020 17:47

KissofDeathCovidBreath was your test positive, do you mind me asking?

That’s really interesting. I’ve had no contact with anyone other than my immediate family and the people I work with. My team all feel fine so I wonder if one of them has it but has no symptoms. We’ve also been religious about sd at work though.

Your progression sounds similar to mine although I didn’t have any stomach issues. I didn’t feel too bad this afternoon apart from a tight chest. This evening I feel awful and have been coughing for the last couple of hours ☹️

Hope it passes soon for you.

I haven't coughed yet and the breathlessness seems to have passed. Headache and shoulder ache still there.

Yes I tested Wednesday and got the positive result Friday afternoon.
christinarossetti19 · 24/10/2020 20:46

Thanks. I went for one this afternoon having woken up with a slight temperature.

CH79 · 30/10/2020 18:25

Hi. Sorry to jump on your post but I can't se to start my own!

Don't know if you guys can advise... Or if anyone has been in the same situation.

I have had a slight headache for a day & also felt slightly nauseaous. Wasn't sick, still eating! As ever... 🐖
Zero covid symptoms according to the Gov. website, 111 online & the track & trace app. All say unlikely I have covid from the info I entered. So don't suggest a test or isolate.
No temperature etc.
I do have a bit of a cold but nothing excessive.

What would you do?

Whole situation is getting me really anxious. Any slight potential illness & its a 'is it covid pamic' 🤦‍♀️

Appreciate your thoughts Mumsnetters.

Thanks!

doireallyneedaname · 30/10/2020 20:49

Weirdly for the past 2 days I have been absolutely exhausted despite sleeping, with a bit of a headache - which I never get. It’s so bad I started to think it could be anaemia, but that seems unlikely given my last bloods.

I’ve never felt this exhausted before, occasionally I feel woozy too.

Toddlerteaplease · 30/10/2020 20:54

I just had a headache and felt a bit tired and achey. Gobsmacked when a random test came back positive. The cough is really testing my pelvic floor though!
