How long did your test results take?

Yesterday had to pick my youngest daughter up from nursery as she had a temperature. She's getting 3 back teeth so positive it's teething. But due to current guidance we got her a test and we are now isolating until we get the results.
How long did your results take to come through?

48hrs for me. Had a test on Monday, got the results yesterday.

vintagenurse · 15/10/2020 13:15

My dd had a test 1030 am on Sunday and got a negative result 830pm on Monday. Thats in the south east

Isadora2007 · 15/10/2020 13:15

45 hours and still waiting... can call to chase up from 48 hours. Really need to know as some vulnerable patients may have been put at risk if I’m positive. 😔

nonamenorma · 15/10/2020 13:19

Never got ours - had to stick out the two week isoation for what I am pretty sure was just my daughter getting a cold with a cough .

Chewbecca · 15/10/2020 13:22

One drive in a midday on a Tuesday, result 5am Wednesday.
One home test posted back on Wednesday, results arrived 9pm Sunday.

catwithflowers · 15/10/2020 13:31

24 hours, north east England

supersonicginandtonic · 15/10/2020 13:34

Thank you for all the replies so far. We're in the midlands. The kids are already going stir crazy and the dogs are looking at me like poo for not walking them.
Hopefully they won't be too long.

Home test posted back Monday afternoon, still waiting so coming up to 3 days. I'm in Gloucestershire where cases are fairly low, but the address on the return envelope was Glasgow. I did the test as part of the Zoe research program so am not isolating, but the test centre wouldn't know this (I don't think).

CointreauVersial · 15/10/2020 13:40

DS had test Thursday evening, results Sunday morning (this was last week, in the south-east).

riotlady · 15/10/2020 13:45

Tested at 11am, got results (via email, text came much later weirdly) at 7am the next day.

wishfuldreamer · 15/10/2020 13:46

Is there a difference in the time between the drive-in centres and the home kits? I'd assume there has to be a bit of a lag with the latter, because it's got to get there...but then where do they process the centre ones?

Si1ver · 15/10/2020 13:49

72 hours, tested at 5.30pm on Friday night and got my emailed results around 7pm Monday.

My husband who tested at the same time got his results Tuesday morning.

FlyingSquid · 15/10/2020 14:14

4 and a half days. Sorry, dogs. Mine hated me too.

supersonicginandtonic · 15/10/2020 14:39

@FlyingSquid oh no! Thankfully we have a large garden. But they aren't happy. They keep sitting in the hallway looking at their leads. 🙈

I’d take my dogs out despite self isolating. Where is the risk?

Badabingbadabum · 15/10/2020 15:45

Dh tested at a walkbincentre Tuesday morning, still waiting. We are in the Midlands too.

YouAndMeAndTheDevilMakesThree · 15/10/2020 15:47

2 and a half days at the start of this week. That was from a drive thru centre.

supersonicginandtonic · 16/10/2020 12:19

Well 48 hours and still no result! Nightmare!

Nearly 100 hours and still waiting 🤷‍♀️

Mysa74 · 16/10/2020 12:38

We had a similar thing, Dd4 had a temp 0.1 over preschool limit but otherwise completely fine. We took her to Stansted airport, 20 min drive from home. Booked test at 10pm for 11am slot, results back at 6am next day. Only missed 1 day of preschool. I was really impressed with how simple the process was a how well everything was set out. I suspect if I hadn't been on mat leave the results would have been much longer, lol. Good luck op!

Cornettoninja · 16/10/2020 12:51

@Mysa74 we went to stansted yesterday too, that’s the kind of turnaround I was hoping for but it’s not to be evidently.

onemouseplace · 16/10/2020 12:53

58 hours here (London).

Mysa74 · 16/10/2020 13:49

@Cornettoninja we went to the 8th, have things changed a lot? It was quite quiet when we were there. Cars in the testing bays but no queues to speak of...

Qwom · 16/10/2020 13:53

24 hrs!
