That looks and sounds amazing! I've had a real craving for anything chocolate orange recently - even hunted out some chocolate orange instant coffee!

Shitfuckoh · 19/10/2020 07:11

@PickAChew
3 days meltdown over cake, my eldest has never disliked cake that much but I do recall a few days of upset when his teachers ''forgot'' his birthday & he didn't get his Birthday party!
I'll tell you a little about my kids eating habits. DS1 has only just recently started to eat cake at all and it has to be chocolate cake. He won't entertain any other. He'll only eat Cathedral city cheese. His sandwiches are always Ham & sliced cheese from a block, with dairylea on the bread - no butter.
DS2 loves cake but he also loves olives, salmon, different cheeses etc. He'll eat anything apart from carrots & peas which have to have a boat of gravy on for him to pick at them.
DS3 has allergys and he eats cheese that isn't even cheese but never on it's own / in bread. Always topping a pasta dish. He's the type of child that screams for pringles & gets very excited to see I'm online food shopping.

Not too sure which child is the strangest haha

PickAChew · 19/10/2020 09:17

In fairness. It takes a lot of gravy to get peas into me, too. They're too round and shelly.

Afternoon all. Just checking in to say hello and hope you're all fine and dandy. DD is absolutely fine, even the snotty nose has cleared up. Her test arrived at the lab at 8am on Saturday but we're still waiting for the result and so are confined to the house. Not that I could have gone anyway this weekend as I've felt absolutely rancid - banging head (like the migraines I usually get but somehow different, it's hard to explain), nausea, tiredness. Like a really bad hangover without the fun of getting drunk first. I've been waking through the night boiling hot and drenched with sweat. Up until Saturday morning when it hit me I was convinced her test would be negative but now I'm not so sure. Even if it's not Covid there's definitely a bug of some sort in the house. I do feel a little bit better today but very far from 100%. No cough or loss of taste/smell however.

I have zero appetite though which is probably the weirdest and most unusual symptom. Literally unheard of!

It looks like Durham university figures are coming down. So that’s good news.

NeurotrashWarrior · 19/10/2020 13:52

Sorry to hear your so poorly penny. To be honest I'd get a test too if I were you; I remember some of my friend describing those symptoms.

Shitfuckoh · 19/10/2020 15:00

Sorry to hear your not feeling too good @PennyDreadfuI. Hoping you start to feel better soon & that DD gets her result quickly.

Text went out this morning letting us know that 4 more staff members have tested positive in DC1 school. What they haven't mentioned is the 3 pupils that have also tested positive. 6 as of Friday, 4 over the weekend / today plus 3 pupils (that I'm aware of).

Surprise surprise the local press/news has been extremely quiet about it!

LatteLover12 · 19/10/2020 16:25

That sounds awful @PennyDreadfuI I hope you're feeling better soon.

A friend of mine has had to go for a test at the Great Park in Newcastle today. She says it was absolutely rammed with people. Not a great sign ☹️

gingeristhenewblack43 · 19/10/2020 17:06

Sorry to hear you are feeling so grim @PennyDreadfuI hopefully it's not the dreaded lurgy and just a bug.

I hope your DD gets her test results soon.

For NT residents a new testing centre has been opened at the council offices on the Cobalt.

gingeristhenewblack43 · 19/10/2020 17:11

Hancock has just acknowledged in the HoC that positive cases in the NE but said we are not out of the woods yet.

InTheLongGrass · 19/10/2020 17:40

Weve got "talks of tier 3 for Teesside and Newcastle" floating round Facebook currently.

Apparently we have a week's reprieve....

FrolickingLemon · 19/10/2020 19:48

@gingeristhenewblack43 I passed that testing centre at Cobalt yesterday. And again today. Except it wasn't there today. So they have either moved it, or it was a weekend only thing when the offices were empty...

gingeristhenewblack43 · 19/10/2020 20:08

@FrolickingLemon I'll have to look into that. I did wonder if it was a weekend thing as I usually pass by several tomes midweek and hadn't seen it before.

And that's despite Durham's numbers. My own msoa has just gone red on the new official map, while Durham city's latest published 7 day rate is over 5%. Newcastle is no longer red, though. Gateshead is dropping, too. Sunderland a bit wibbly wobbly and teesside still heading upwards
NeurotrashWarrior · 20/10/2020 07:04

The drive through test place at St nicks in gosforth has had a few cars and looks inhabited for the first time since it popped up last Friday, as I went to the post office there. I think it's private for the hospital (secure unit.)

Obviously I don't go there daily but we did a lot to go to the nature park over the summer and I drive past sometimes. I've never seen anyone there!

What's encouraging is that testing is going up but positivity is going down.

NeurotrashWarrior · 20/10/2020 07:05

Actually I wonder if they're having regular tests?

Someaddedsugar · 20/10/2020 07:37

@PickAChew I've just been looking at a map on the gov site and on there it also showed Northumberland figures had dropped considerably - I think previously there were quite large numbers in the north Northumberland area but now on the colour coded map they've moved to a shade below Durham/Newcastle/Tees. Hopefully we'll all follow suit soon! Durham does seem to be a bit of a hotspot in the city centre doesn't it!

Someaddedsugar · 20/10/2020 07:38

Hope everyone's doing ok despite all of the craziness!

gingercat02 · 20/10/2020 08:05

Neurotrash they are probably testing staff and visitors at St Nick's. I have a friend who works there and last time we talked they had had no cases at all.

swg1 · 20/10/2020 10:14

Tees seems to have gone sky-high now.

Got bad news yesterday. A second cousin in Sheffield has passed away from covid :( Late sixties and over-weight but he was otherwise perfectly healthy.

LatteLover12 · 20/10/2020 11:20

Sorry to hear that @swg1, hope you're okay Thanks

Shitfuckoh · 20/10/2020 11:39

Eldests school have just alerted to 2 more cases. I've noticed if it's staff, they usually state staff but when it's pupils, they just states ''more cases with Covid''. So working on that basis, todays is 2 more pupils Sad

Sorry to hear that @swg1

NoseringGirl · 20/10/2020 12:17

@swg1 sorry to hear that Thanks
