Does anyone still avoid public toilets?

OP posts:
Merriwicks · 11/10/2020 16:44

Yes

Abracadabra12345 · 11/10/2020 16:45

No, but I never did

Dustballs · 11/10/2020 16:45

No

SillyCow6 · 11/10/2020 16:48

Yes but mostly because they gross me out so I only use them when I have to even at the best of times

Buckwheat80 · 11/10/2020 16:49

Yes, but that applied before covid too.

Viv0321 · 11/10/2020 16:50

How does everyone manage on days out?

OP posts:
LadyWithLapdog · 11/10/2020 16:50

No, why? I went twice at Westfield shopping centre today. It’s no worse than usual, or maybe even better. Needs must.

RhubarbAndMustard · 11/10/2020 16:52

No, but I do avoid the hand driers. Although very frustrating that lots are still shut.

CakeGirl2020 · 11/10/2020 16:52

Never avoided them. What’s the alternative wearing a nappy, weeing myself?

I wear my mask as it’s an enclosed space, have a quick wee and wash my hands. My hands are also washed Every time I get home. I am not dead of Covid yet

jessstan1 · 11/10/2020 16:53

Are public toilets open again? Are they open in restaurants? I don't know because I haven't been out for months but would like to and would hate to be taken short with nowhere to wee. I would carry a small packet of disinfectant wipes; when you have to go, you have to go.

JaJaDingDong · 11/10/2020 16:56

I'm a post menopausal woman in her 60s who's had three pregnancies. Avoiding public toilets is not an option.

cheeseychovolate · 11/10/2020 16:58

I avoid if possible, but if I have to use a toilet then I wear a mask and avoid hand driers. If we're outside then I let my son do a bush wee as he'd just touch everything and wouldn't wear a mask.

RubyViolet · 11/10/2020 17:01

I try to but if l have to go in l use a mask, put the seat down before l flush
and wash and antibac my hands thoroughly.
The faecal aerosol thing really grosses me out now !

DramaAlpaca · 11/10/2020 17:14

No. If I need to go, I go. And wash my hands very thoroughly afterwards.

UseOfWeapons · 11/10/2020 17:16

Not avoiding them now, never have. Fortunately, our local council kept one loo open through lockdown, so when I needed to go into town, I could still wee. They had a SD officer at the door, who would tell you when you could go in....and he’s still there.
Usual mask and hand wash, gel once I’m out of there. Big relief when the local country park reopened their toilets, more people walking meant that an outdoor wee wasn’t possible!

Not a big fan of public toilets, but can't say that I avoid them. If I gotta go, I gotta go😬

PinkBuffalo · 11/10/2020 17:20

@Abracadabra12345

No, but I never did
Same Luckily our public toilets were open all through lockdown which was handy as gym was closed I was walking on the seafront a lot then
JamSarnie · 11/10/2020 17:21

Same here.

Prefer cafe/shop/restaurants toilets than the ones in the street but that's because they are usually cleaner. But if I need to pee I use a toilet.

HowFastIsTooFast · 11/10/2020 18:00

No and I never was. What are the stats on people contracting Covid from toilet seats?!?

Luckily all of our local ones stayed open through lockdown. As unpleasant as public loos can be they are infinitely more pleasant than people just shitting on the beach or in the park.

RegularHumanBartender · 11/10/2020 18:03

Um, no?! I never did.

MiracletoCome · 11/10/2020 18:10

I avoid some but I always did as some are gross

LilyPond2 · 11/10/2020 20:01

Yes. Using a public toilet would worry me a lot more now than a few weeks ago given the way infection rates have rocketed.

WhoWants2Know · 11/10/2020 20:02

I kind of avoid the public in general, which does include the toilets.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 11/10/2020 20:03

Avoided them where possible pre Covid an haven’t been anywhere far to need to use them since Feb.

HoneyBee03 · 11/10/2020 20:35

No. I don't see any reason to avoid them.
