Who thinks Nicola will announce a circuit break lockdown tomorrow?

No she has said theres not going to be a lockdown. Or travel restrictions.

I'm thinking it must be restricting pubs cafes etc as theres not much else to do now as we already are banned from meeting other households indoors. Maybe banning meeting households outdoors?

No lockdown. Not really sure what else they can do as they have really done most things except to fully close hospitality. She has also said she isnt going to impose travel restrictions. Schools are to stay open. Really not sure its going to make ANY difference at all.
neveradullmoment99 · 06/10/2020 21:52

They clearly are targeting the school holidays too as why have it on the October break otherwise.
I think it will have little effect. Not all schools close for the break at the same time either.

dementedpixie · 06/10/2020 21:57

She's already said schools are having their normal holidays. Some get 2 weeks but we only get 1 week. Dont know what the new restrictions could be

neveradullmoment99 · 06/10/2020 21:59

Is it not 2 weeks in England?
As far as I know, in Scotland its only ever been one.

dementedpixie · 06/10/2020 22:00

Some areas in Scotland get 2 weeks

neveradullmoment99 · 06/10/2020 22:00

However they are different weeks. My kids are next week. Some are the following week.

neveradullmoment99 · 06/10/2020 22:01

I didn't know that! Then they must lose a week elsewhere?
Windyone · 06/10/2020 22:02

Possibly pubs and restaurants shut for 2 weeks? I’m not sure that’s where the spread is though

neveradullmoment99 · 06/10/2020 22:04

Me neither. Saying that, someone told me last week that a pub they had gone into was heaving. No SD.
dementedpixie · 06/10/2020 22:05

Is it not known as the Tattie holidays in some areas?

RoseDog · 06/10/2020 22:05

We are half way through our first week of school holidays!

I'm just interested in what shite swinney will spew out about exams as I have ds in S4!

neveradullmoment99 · 06/10/2020 22:05

I think maybe the problem is that people are now tired of these rules and not complying?
In my area I have seen visitors.
I personally dont go out much anway so not going to affect me really.

RoseDog · 06/10/2020 22:05

dementedpixie my mum still call it the tattie holidays.

Oh dear. I have my dd in s3 and one in s1. Must be hard if they are in an exam year.
neveradullmoment99 · 06/10/2020 22:07

@RoseDog do you get two weeks?

neveradullmoment99 · 06/10/2020 22:08

I saw that in the newspaper. Never heard of the tattie holidays.
Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/10/2020 22:08

We have two weeks, starting on Friday. They were traditionally for tattie picking, yes!

I think further hospitality restrictions - maybe only food places, no just going for a drink? And possibly no household mixing at all, so you could go for lunch with your family you live with, or flat mates or whatever, but not meet other people. But surely that would be really shit for people who live alone?

RoseDog · 06/10/2020 22:09

@RoseDog do you get two weeks

Yep!

CreamCabbages · 06/10/2020 22:09

I expect some changes will be made, measures need to be taken to reduce the R number.

I dont know what the new measures will entail and would only drive myself crazy trying to second guess!

Personally I think restrictions on travel and ban on meeting other households could be a good idea.

We will see

neveradullmoment99 · 06/10/2020 22:09

We cant mix with a household atm.

neveradullmoment99 · 06/10/2020 22:10

I thought that was everyhwhere in Scotland?

neveradullmoment99 · 06/10/2020 22:11

we cant mix inside.
I can visit my family but only outside.
I think i could go for a meal with my family.
However i couldnt drive them as that isnt allowed!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/10/2020 22:11

Households can mix outside homes here, is that not the case throughout? No visitors, but I could meet you in a cafe for lunch.

dementedpixie · 06/10/2020 22:12

I had to have a socially distanced meeting outdoors with my mum yesterday for her birthday. Not allowed indoors in a private residence. Only allowed 2 households if eating at a restaurant
