Would you go on holiday from a lockdown area to a lockdown area?

Just that really! I was due to go on holiday October half term to an area that is in local lockdown, I am also in a local lockdown area. I’m thinking it’s probably best to cancel?

@Dozens

Yes she’s gone from an area with local restrictions. I’m surprised they weren’t stopped at the airport??
If an area in England with local restrictions you can travel. OP hasn't been yet ??
ceeveebee · 27/09/2020 11:34

Dozens is talking about someone else from Wales
I’m surprised she wasn’t stopped at the county border, they have roadblocks from what I’ve seen on TV!

@Pickagoddamnname

Ofcourse its peoples fault.
They didnt listen, still not listening
What do they expect to happen

HardJustGotHarder · 27/09/2020 16:36

@gingajewel

Yes people like you

You are in a lockdown area but going to go on holiday!!!

Furbs · 27/09/2020 16:38

hardjustgotharder

The Government are saying it's absolutely fine to do this so I really don't see where you're coming from at all? Why do you think people are in the wrong for adhering to the rules?

TheSkyFalleth · 27/09/2020 16:39

😂🤦🏼‍♀️

gingajewel · 27/09/2020 16:52

@HardJustGotHarder but I’m adhering to the rules as laid out by the government, not making up my own or trying to bend any rules!

Oh my god some of these replies! As long as OP remains in her household bubble whilst away then she is within the guidelines, following the rules just as most other people are. We are in an area which has had local restrictions in place (lifted for two glorious weeks which coincided with the restart of school, then reinstated) since July. It is not 'lockdown' it is local restrictions. We went away twice during this period of time, both to rural areas self catering WITHIN guidelines and it did us all good. So looking at this thread, most of you not currently in restrictions are expecting those of us in restrictions not to have enjoyed a single day trip or weekend away since March. Ok then.

OP, enjoy your break.

Pickagoddamnname · 27/09/2020 17:17

@HardJustGotHarder so the government say it’s ok to go out of the area you live in and say it is ok to go on holiday in the places with extra restrictions and you think it’s the individuals fault for not making up their own stricter rules?!

Okay

For what it’s worth I think there should have been local lockdowns but there wasn’t so you really can’t blame the people, blame the rule makers. If I had a holiday booked I’d be going because I bloody well need one! I’d stay in my bubble and follow all of the rules in place but I’m not locking myself in no.

@HardJustGotHarder why are you expecting OP to follow your rules rather than the Government's??

Piixxiiee · 27/09/2020 17:29

I would. Weve booked to go away and will go.

HardJustGotHarder · 27/09/2020 18:27

@RockingMyFiftiesNot

I didnt say for her to follow my rules

I said its people like her who are going on hokiday that are spreading this virus,

Just the same as the dickheads on the street partying, the 25000 people in London ‘protesting’

Everyone ‘deserves’ a holiday

People need to minimise contact with others!

Going on a plane really isnt doing that

Furbs · 27/09/2020 18:32

Who's talking about going on a plane? You've either not read the thread or you're just making it up to suit yourself.

Also not answering questions about what's wrong with following government guidelines.

OP have a wonderful time.

No-one mentioned a plane.
And it is ridiculous to suggest going on holiday (if social distancing and hand washing/mask wearing etc) is observed is the same as taking part in a close contact massive crowd protest.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 27/09/2020 18:55

I expect that some of you who are slating those who go on holiday would quite like there to be tour operators still in business when we eventually come out the other side of this. 'People like me' are helping to ensure that happens and keeping people in jobs.

You're welcome.

gingajewel · 27/09/2020 20:27

@HardJustGotHarder I’m not going on a plane....I’m going to blackpool......in my car, just me and my two children, not meeting anyone there, staying in a caravan and not planning to go in any pubs, just out to the beach, the seaside, maybe see the lights! There are no aeroplanes involved!!!
